I tried to add an FM modulated XM Commander to my 10 year old Eclipse deck in a '95 GS-R and it sucks, so I am going to bite the bullet and buy a deck that is XM compatible.
I have an Alpine 9813 and Alpine XM tuner in my S2000 and it kicks ass but there is currently no Alpine XM tuner adapter available. I have been waiting for about a year for that adapter and I'm not waiting any longer. I hate Sony so that leaves me with Pioneer.
I want detach face, MP3, XM, sub output with level control, some form of bass EQ (I'm using a single 10" sub and it needs some help) and I would prefer time correction but that seems to be an Alpine-only feature. I have a four channel amp so the unit's built in power is irrelevant.
The local Premier dealer showed me a DEH-760MP that looks pretty good. The display on the cheaper models looks like crap so I'm not buying one of those.
He also had a DEH-8MP that looks interesting, it's a little more expensive but might be worth it.
Is there anybody here that is familiar with these units that might have $.02 for me?

I've been a pioneer headunit owner for 5 years and would say they are one of the best "bang for your buck" units. The steering wheel remote is pretty awesome as well. I think if you wanted time correction, you'd have to get into the DVD-A side of things. After getting his alpine unit stolen, my friend switched to the pioneer deh-7600 and hasn't had any complaints from it. It's also pretty easy to set the sound stage in front of you if that's what you're looking for.

Hmm- the Pioneer 7600 and Premier 760 appear to be the exact same unit.
The Alpine models feature time correction, so that you can adjust the delay for the various channels to account for the seating position in the car. It really works in my S2000 and I'd like to have it in the GS-R. Maybe Pioneer's system works the same way, I need to find out.
