94 GSR stalling/possible idle speed problem (Score: 1, Normal)

I just bought a 1994 GSR and every once in a while it stalls. This problem seems to occur with hot weather. At first I considered vaporlock but once the car starts and settles there is never a problem. I took it to the dealer and they said sometimes it is a relay that melts. They looked it over and couldn't find the problem. I replaced the spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, and did an oil change. It runs well once it starts except the idle seems very low, somewhere around 300 rpms, sometimes dropping slightly from there. I'm pretty sure the idle speed is way too low. Maybe this is part of the stalling problem. What is the normal idle speed? Anybody have any advice?

I've had the same problem where my car acts insane. ABS lights coming on hard starting, stalling at different times, then finally it wouldn't start. Took apart alot of things and I found out that it was the key cylinder harness. The contacts were not touching anymore. You might want to check that out.

I always start by reseting the ECU to know that I'm starting from square one with the ECU. Check your distributor cap and rotor. Check the timing too.

check your main fuel relay, t can cause the car to stall by cutting out the fuel supply.
