Just curious as it seems less and less people know how to drive one. Figure that thieves and crooks aren't terribly bright, so one would think they would rather steal a automatic. I have no idea is this theory is even close to correct, anyone ever seen any data on that?

Look at the link in the reply by crv16. Integra is the most stolen car per 1000 insured car. I believe there are more manual integras than manual accords. So it doesn't really matter. My sister's bf Civic SiR got stolen too. Unless da theif got a tow truck, he gotta know how to drive a manual

I believe a manual transmission would actually make a car more worth stealing. I mean, the main reason Integras are stolen so often is because these guys are swapping the engines into their Civics and then dumping the rest of the car. Now, why would anyone want to swap an engine that has an automatic transmission? I think if you're car is an automatic, it's less likely to get stolen. I mean, I have a 99 Civic Ex with an A/T. If, and that's a big IF, I were to steal a car, I would totally want something like a 01 Integra Type R, and then put the B18C5 into my Civic. That would be awesome!! Of course, I'm not a thief, so I would never do that. I'd rather save my money and by an RSX-S.
