Looks like the Element is going in the dumper. I like the concept, but the boxy look is to much for most people. I think a re-skin may be in order if they want to perk sales up. Heck maybe even making a truck/ute would be nice. Or just a 4-cyl truck.

I do not really think that 60,000 units sold per year can honestly be called a "dumper"

I too think that 60,000 a year is nothing to sneeze at. Also, it isn't as heavily rebated/incentived as its GM/Ford/Chrysler counterpart (not that there are any). And finally, this is a product that utilizes production capacity that keeps the plant busy. Would 60,000 people have bought another Honda product instead of the Element? I think not. For Honda, its a win/win no matter how many they sell.

Honda's original target for the Element was 50-60K units per year. The first year high is just settling to a normal selling rate.

I think Honda's original estimate was 40K units with the extra capacity for 50K. They revised it just before launch to 50K.

I agree that sales are just dropping back to a more normal rate. But it is kinda alarming that it's happening so fast.

You are correct. Most Elements I've seen are driven by the 30 to 80 yr old crowd. What happened to Gen Y?

The Element still seems to be popular, but I think its time for honda to rethink those fenders. The show car Honda has with the body colored fenders is sharp. The panel van version would sell IMO. A lot of business have bought them and put there company name on the side. Makes them look more progressive.

With painted fenders, I'd get me a 5 spd in black or sliver and throw on some of them chrome 20"....
