I have a couple of issues with my 95 Accord EX.
First, my brakes are contantly squealing, and I'm pretty sure it's the wear indicators. It only does it at medium brake pressure. (In other words, if I slam on the brakes, they're fine, and if I'm creeping forward, they're fine, but when I'm almost at a complete stop, they're shrieking pretty bad.)The car has 108K mi. What am i going to have to replace (pads, rotors), and how much is this going to cost me at my Honda dealer? I have 4w disc w/ABS.
Also, I've had the car for about four months and I love it but I'm worried about my low fuel warning light. I've tried to empty the tank so far that the needle was nearly pegged, and I still haven't seen the fuel light come on. The gauge itself appears to work fine. Does anyone know how many gallons should be in the tank when the light comes on? I'd like to test it, but I don't want to have to drain the tank.

i had the same problems with my breaks on my last civic.. and i thought the same thing... sounds like you just bought the car.. find out where the brakes were done last, and what quality they are.. i had mine done at BIG-O tires, and after taking the car back to them at least 10 times because of sqeauling breaks, they finally told me it was because of the material the pads were made out of... needless to say i was pertty pissed that i paid all that money for shitty brakes... and they only squealed at low speed with a certain pressure... and as far as the fuel light... in both my old civic and my current accord.. the light wont come on until the needle is quite a ways below the "E".. im not sure on the amount of exact fuel though..

Hi there.....
I own a 95 Accord EX-R (canadian version of US EX)
I too wondered about the fuel light and if it was
broken. I figured out by running her down to nothing,
that the fuel light will only come on way under the 'E' line.
Its almost scary. The car ran a total 85km ( 53mi) until
it finally ran out of gas. Gallons ??? have no idea.

Forget about the low fuel light. On my '96 Integra, the light stopped working about a year ago. Occassionally, it'll come on, but not when it's supposed to. Just use the fuel gauge.
If you want to fix it, it might be the sensor in the fuel tank, which means dropping the tank to access it... fairly labor intensive work... probably not worth having a mechanic do it just to get the light working again.

Check your owner's manual to verify how large your gas tank is. I think your tank is 16.9 gallons? When you fill up, notice where the fuel gauge level is and see how many gallons og gas you get into the tank. When my gauges (Prelude, Accord, Civic) are near "E", I can only get in about 2/3 to 3/4 of what a "full" tank is. When the fuel light first comes on, the tank is topped off sometimes 3-4 gallons less than what a "full" tank would be.
Next time you're driving around waiting for the light to come on, note where the gauge is and fill it up to see how much you can get in. If you can get in 16 gallons and the light never came on, something is wrong. It should come on with at least 2-3 gallons left in the tank. I wouldn't trust the light!
Don't go into the light!
The light will leave you stranded miles from the nearest Kwik-E Mart. You'll be without gas, slushies, and numerous novelty items.
