into an american market 12v? i don't know if they all work on the same electrical levels but if they do, i'm assuming it should be good, right? reason being i hate the single dins that leave the huge gaps and the double dins have the tape deck usually and it's something i wouldn't use. but i have minidisc and i can do the cd thing at the same time so... any input would be useful. thanks in advance!

I believe it shouldn't be a problem, but be aware of the fact that japanese FM spectrum is different; i believe it starts at a lower frequency... I have minidiscs too, and I just got a sony aftermarket CD deck hooked up to an MD changer in the glovebox... By the way how did you get your hands on the japanese deck? How about those navigation units? Can I possibly score one and install one into my civic?? Any thoughts anybody?

oh i didn't get one, i'm just trying to verify if it would be possible to install it in working condition IF i did, because the double dins avalible are just nasty looking. i don't have too much of a problem with the fm freq, because i only listen to 94.9 over here, which is npr. i do have friends in japan however, and that's my hook up pretty much =).

Hello,
I have a JDM double Din JVC deck on my prelude. The frequency range is from 74 to 90 so you cannot listen to 94.0 without a range shifter box which is a little box that goes between your deck and the antenna cable. I dont have one but I know that is available in online UK and Australian stores.
