My wife wants an SUV but I've always said that I will not buy something that gets 20mpg at best. She currently drives a Toyota Matrix and easily gets over 30mpg's. With the rumour of IMA coming in the RDX I can see that this will be our next new vehicle. Then I can drive my RSX-S for fun and the RDX to take the kid and dog around in.

Yeah, it sounds really good. I'm thinking BMW's X3 should look out... This sounds like another great Honda/Acura. I know if I had the money I'd buy one.

This would look great next to my TSX, I will definetly go for this SUV, if it is nice looking, a Hyrid, and has decent worthwhile room inside. But, I wonder what the Future Pilot will look like and I assume that will also have a Hybrid option.
I hope that we hear more about this RDX soon!

Ditto. I would like a smallish car-based SUV. Wife wants a lux brand. She currently drives an Acura. Interestingly, when I discussed our preference for a smaller SUV with the Acura sales person, he said one was coming next year! Looks like it might happen.

It will happen, not might. The fact that Acura will be adding another (smaller) SUV to the lineup has been confirmed for almost two years now - it's just the details that are a little sketchy.
Right now we're basically 100% certain that it will be based on the Accord's global midsize platform, rather than the civic platform. IMO, this is good news because it means that VTM is a very high probability (rather than Realtime AWD) and also it will probably have the full double wishbone suspension, rather than the civic platform's mcstruts.

If RDX uses the light truck platform, a derivative of the midsize platform, it may still have McStruts front and four-link rear doublewishbones (like Ody/Pilot/MDX) instead of doublewishbone front and Watt-link (5-link) double wishbone rear as in Accord/TSX/TL.
