Blizzaks are a stand alone tire plain and simple. The down side is the wear on dry pavement is excessive.

nokias are awesome snow tires. i've used the hakka 1s unstudded for years with no problem. and they bite from the time they're new until you're ready to replace them.

nokia offers a wide range of tires. i chose the hakka 1 because they're the best for deep snow though they do well on ice. you can gett them studded or try the NRW or the hakka Q or hakka 2 depending on what you want. they even have "performance snow tires" which sounds like an oxymoron but they provide great snow traction with better dry handling characteristics. my hakka 1s do well on dry roads - they're quiet, keep the car pointed, and don't wear excessively. i wouldn't drive like i do on my summer tires but i've never had a problem with their performance.

Snow tires are just tires; however, if you read below, you may be convinced to purchase.

"Nokian NRW, available in most sizes, 15-17”. This is “H” rated “all-weather plus” performance tire.
***It has a 50,000 mileage WARRANTY.
***30-DAY Replacement Guarantee! If you are dissatisfied with the tires, within the first 30 days from date of purchase, NOKIAN will reimburse the customer direct for the cost of the tires!
***ROAD HAZARD–If within the first 3% of tread wear use, you incur any loss due to a road hazard, Nokian will replace the tire at no cost.

B. Nokian HAKKAPELLITTA I
This “STUDDABLE” dedicated winter tire is available in most 15-16” sizes. It can be studded with the unique Eco Stud System, for improved safety and durability.
The HAKKA I, with its special rubber compounds, were formulated for extreme weather conditions and durability making them the longest lasting winter tires in the world. They are available in studless or studable versions. If has a new self cleaning arrow-shaped directional tread design, significantly improving traction and lateral grip for better handling and safety."

Beware that do not go under size when purchasing your snow tires. I got some old 195/60R15 Toyo tire from my pervious Accord so I've to used it on your G5 Lude. It is a big mistake. Handling, braking, are all gone.

Also beware that most "performance" snow tire forego some snow performance for dry road performance. I believe it is always a trade off scenario.
