Can anyone offer advice on installing fronts with a separate tweeter? Where would you put it?

Door panel is probably your best bet.

There are basically two locations that will suit the tweeters best.

The first is right where ryan said, on the door pannels. Right below the window there should be about a 2-3" foam padding. From my experience in my integras and on other Hondas, the foam padding is about 1/2" thick and is hollow behind it. Get a hole Saw the same size as your new tweeters and cut a hole right through the foam padding (run the Drill/holesaw backwards so you don't rip the padding, only cut through it) Make sure there is enough space behind the padding too (check where the padding is going to fit against the door to make sure the door itself doesn't have some obsticle to get around.) I did this with my 2000 GS-R in the Rear since It already had factory tweeters. (High Res Photos of my stereo - Check out img_2670 & 2671 for the tweeters). I have other photos of my stereo install there too and some basic blueprints of my Custom sub "Enclosure" (which are a little inaccurate from front-back; I think I needed to cut and inch off the front if I remember correctly)

The 2nd is on the back side of your side-view mirrors. The Civic EX has it's tweeters mounted there in the 98+ model years. If your Car has power mirrors, see if you can find some of these molded tweeter housings in a junkyard and then it will look factory. If you don't have power mirrors, you will probably have to go with option 1

Good Luck
