How to reset check engine light? (Score: 2, Valid Question)

How do you go about resetting the check engine light? It's a 2000 Civic CX hatch, US spec. I tried searching the forums because I know I've seen this topic here before, but they came up as unavailable at this time.
I don't have a scantool and I'm pretty sue that it's due to a loose gas cap. Thanks.

Have you tryed the eazy way out?!??!
Just unplug the battery for a few minutes and plug it back in. Its always worked for me.

The quickest way to reset the check engine light will also reset your PCM to base parameters. Simply disconnect the negative battery cable and touch it to the positive terminal. This will drain any capacitors in the PCM and start you out from scratch. Keep in mind, on some models you will need to re-learn the idle. Simply start the car and run it for 15 minutes with no accessories on.
