I cheated on those black bits on the windshield corners, but they don't look good black or body-colored really. I'd have to see the car in person to understand what they are doing with that element.

I have never understood the carbon fibre trim thing. I like contrasting textures and patterns of leathers myself. Black/Blue would be cool enough for me.

For exterior color, I am looking for a shocking pearl yellow. Maybe even pearl and metallic. Think Spa Yellow (color of my S2000) on steroids. I think Yellow is the best Ferrari color, and I think it would enhance the look of the new NSX.

Ford has a really bright yellow as an option on Mustang, but it doesn't do anything for that car.

I can't get anything but a piss yellow out of this one.

I think you have too much shadow in the yellow. Under bright light (outdoors, indoor floods, etc) the yellow hue would blow out the shadows.

You are correct, though. Piss is always a danger with yellows. They are a sensitive color. Which is why good ones look so nice.

458 with its low torque can't keep up with the MP4-12C and the NISMO GT-R but the 458 is the better drivers car and the last production model 458(special) gets closer with lower weight(its stripped of all comforts) and better exhaust system(+30hp).

And we should see the 458 replacement in about two years!

Everybody keeps saying Honda isn't going to get in the horsepower game,THEY'RE NOT,they're getting into the torque war and best drivers interaction.

In 2015...everybody will be over 600 hp.

The better car will be the best drivers car that can use that power the best....not the power or best in only one performance catergory but on top or close to top on all performance catergories with the best drivers feel!

As soon as I put on a titanium exhaust, dump the spare tire, dump the air conditioning and stereo, swap to carbon shell seats with fixed brackets, maybe it can be 2980 lbs. Not bad.

I just hope Acura can leapfrog the current crop of cars while in the future, be able to upgrade the NSX regularly to keep it competitive with the next round of revamped/all new super cars as the Vette Z07/ZR1, 911 Turbo, Audi R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo are all going to be released over the next couple of years. Acura can't afford to let this car rot like the 1st generation.

Honda likes variable-geometry turbos just as Porsche. The turbo(VGT)in the first-gen RDX was design by Honda and built by a parts supplier.

Is Honda going to take the VGT to the next step first?

Variable-geometry twin-scroll turbo

That would be the VTEC of turbos!

I was told the e-Turbo is still 5 years away but Honda is working on it.

PAWS would be great if it they use it on the NSX!

I was told it makes the chassis feel short wheelbase(easy change of direction) turning into the corner and long wheelbase(more balance to put the power down sooner) coming out of the corner.

The 1st Gen NSX is a superb ride/handler.

Makes one wonder how good it might have felt if they'd not dropped the 4WS, in order to save mass.

Since the 911 now has 4WS, PAWS might be a great idea.

I'm wondering though, how all these FREDs will not push the mass over 1,500Kgs.

The new 4WS is about 3/4 lighter than the late 80's,early 90's systems.

And it really works on 911 turbo S (makes you forget that the engine is behind the rear tires) more neutral!

Re: P-AWS are you trying to tell us something you know without really 'telling' us or is that just a wish? I wonder how they'd package it with AWD on that axle? Seems like it would be incredibly tight.

So the e-Turbo was the one that would run off of a generator and stay spooled so lag would be eliminated? If that's gone what will they do to address the issue of lag?

Watch Jay Leno's video on the P1 to answer that question about turbo lag.

With three electric motors pulling from 0 rpm,you will not fill any turbo lag.

Also VG Turbos are designed to spool up early in the rpm range.
The trick is to get boost past 6000-6500 rpm and that is when a twin-scroll would help and a two-stage compressor with separate air-intake(kinda like VTEC).

There'll be no space issues. The porsche 918 has a nice way of packaging theirs - their rear steer motor is below the arm so its pretty short, plus the car is wider. But even honda's version is still shorter than a traditional wishbone. Most of it will effectively be "hidden" inside the wheel. It'll the It'll be shocking if they didn't use!

With P-AWS this thing may have control and handling that could rival even the best supercars. Think of the properties SH-AWD adds in the rear with torque vectoring and the acceleration unit, couple that with P-AWS which will ease cornering loads thus increasing its threshold, and the negative torque aspect of the electric motors up front. This car will be making the most out of every ounce of grip available to it. Exciting prospect.

Indeed; the new actuators are tiny compared to the EPS on my Prelude.

I'm just concerned that with three e-motors, battery pack, 7DSG and turbos, plus the extra cooling, and the FREDs to control it all and add modern conveniences, it's gonna be one helluva packaging exercise. The old car was tight enough!

Sounds like it could be a REAL Honda tour de force, though.

I like the new 4WS!

It replaces the lower toe link(very little weight add).

The hardest job is going to be the cooling devices locations for the engine, oil, trans, intercooler, electric motors and batteries.

My gut feeling is that is why they will go longitudinal with the trans in the front of the engine. Most of the coolers will be in the front except the intercooler and oil cooler in the rear.

My guess is that center tunnel will have the trans in the rear part with the electric motor attach to the end of the trans(e-power thru all 9-gears unlike everybody else's systems that is direct drive or only two-speed) then the battery in the front half of the tunnel.

Might they hang the engine rear of the axle line, balanced by the gearbox and e-motor in front of it? That would free up some space for the drivetrain, and with PAWS and modern stability assist programmes could feasibly be made to handle well as well?

Go look at the interior pictures of the NSX.

The first thing you see is the big center tunnel(why is it so big?)

Also a longitudinal trans mounted on the front of the engine can be longer(but not that long because the differential would be at the rear of the engine) and thinner than a transverse trans. So with a electric motor it will not be that big(no differential in the trans).

And that layout will keep the things that hate heat in front of the heat makers(engine and turbos)!

Almost forgot!

There is a side effect of that layout!

Because there is no transmission behind the engine,Honda can run the exhaust done low in the centerline of the car to keep out of the way of suspension and diffuser and put a small trunk above it!

Supercars don't need trunks but it would be nice to be the only Supercar you can bring a couple of small bags on a weekend trip! :)
