It's kinda cute. Imagine seeing this creeping onto your mirrors. I'd probably spin out.

Apparently they're trying out different exhaust set ups that sacrifice its signature soundtrack... which is kinda sad. But since this is the HSV's last year Honda's probably going all out.

That McLaren F1 sounds and looks slow... Is it a GT300 spec?

Yesterday at the test at Okayama the # 100 Raybrig was the fastest Honda but only fourth behind Lexus and Nissan.

Also Honda was testing different exhausts before the season start.

#100 short exhaust
# 17 semi short side exhaust
# 18 single rear exhaust
# 8,32 normal side exhaust

That 12C is in the GT300 class. You can tell by the colour of its headlights, and by the fact it isn't Japanese :)

Maybe the rest of the Honda teams were running conservative like the Honda teams did in the recent Indy car test?? I hope!

Remember that most of the benefit is coming from header design; the rest of the exhaust is mostly a matter of packaging and some aero benefit.

I recall Honda claiming they had sacrificed a better output for the F1 sound back in 2010 while talking about the exhaust setup. Not sure what changes that made now but a gap of six places makes it seem like a major thing.

Of course assuming the other teams weren't running conservative, as sadlerau mentioned.

Also, the HSVs are supposed to feel at home in technical circuits like Okayama..
