Looks nice on the outside and it seems like the inside will also improve, but what about the steering. Will the Civic be more fun to drive?

Heading into 2013 with styling and content additions, the Civicís fun-to-drive nature and core attributes of safety, spaciousness and fuel efficiency remain intact.

It sounds like another way of saying "nothing's changed".

My guess is a revised suspension (so far). But don't be surprised the Civic gets the new Earth Dreams Technology 1.8-liter I-4 with new CVT automatic when the true MMC comes out abot two years from now.

They should fix the driving dynamics to *at least* match the 8th gen. Steering (EPS retuning, tighter steering ratio) & sportier suspension tuning. Otherwise this will be more like 2012 Corolla MMC vs 2011 Corolla.

Fingers crossed.

Well, I think that means there will be some changes. I'm hoping this is in the form of better steering and sportier suspension.

Even if you exclude discussion of future drivetrain changes and these current updates to the exterior styling, Honda has a long way to go with this Civic. I can tell you after spending 4 months with one that they cut content to the extent most of you would never guess... like when trying to fold the seats down (no levers on the rear seats) and if the rear seats are down, you see the brake lights illuminate the entire trunk and car's interior at night. My point isn't just to complain, but to suggest to Honda that making the Civic a 'premium small car' again means more than just a few tweaks here n there. Its a whole rethink of whats able to be cut before its no longer a Honda and just resembles, well... a Toyota. I bought this Civic out of necessity - but it wont be sticking around long. I think that statement more than any is why Honda is moving so quick to adjust this car. They know that otherwise its a losing proposition. And for their sake, they should have a MMC in another year where they continue to upgrade more than just a transition to Earth Dreams tech.
