Figures 3 and 4:

You can see how quickly the transmission allows the engine to run up to the torque peak at 4200 RPM and then it slowly revs the engine as the gears change due as the car accelerates.

The interesting math here is that the software needs to juggle two different ways to apply torque... gears and engine RPM. The fastest way would be to keep the engine at max torque until the gears come to a minimum ratio, and ONLY THEN, start increasing the RPM.

But, this would sound WEIRD... this is the RUBBERBAND effect, so it looks like they compromised and increased RPM and decreased gear ratios at the same time.

Not the fastest way, but surely the most pleasant one.

In your test runs, did you see varations on that curves for Figure3 and 4?
