15% id what you would expect to lose from an MT, if Honda managed to do it on a CVT that by itself is an impressive achievement (don't think they did...)

15% id what you would expect to lose from an MT, if Honda managed to do it on a CVT that by itself is an impressive achievement (don't think they did...)



I thought the 15% loss was "typical" in 5AT hondamatics...

With 18" wheels ?
I'm not a dyno expert, but from everything I can remember reading TOV MT Hondas tend to lose about that 15%.

Ex:
2012 Civic making 175hp (15%)

Actually 15% loss was what the jazx hybrid delivered as well. It has the CVT-7 as well. From Honda spec of 100ps at the crank,
my dyno session netted around 85ps. It is similar with the CRZ CVT I just returned. Dyno result was 106ps, almost spot on for 15% loss. In a conversation I had with the insight engineers, they told me they have managed to improve efficiency of the CVT.
