It would be interesting to see how the S mode comes into play in the non-Sport CVT models, since it has fully automatic operation vs. the shift paddles of the Sport. Any chance that we owners of LX and EX CVT models might get a little love at some time in the future? They may not be Sport models, but they're hardly chopped liver... ;) And we KNOW that the LX, EX and EX-L I4 CVTs are going to make up the lion's share of Accord sales.

Also, did you do a "first drive" type test of the Sport CVT while you had it? I'd like to get your take on the pros and cons of the CVT, since the first drives done so far have been exclusively with 6MTs.

actually until you shift with the paddles in "S" mode it operates as a pure CVT in S-mode. It's supposed to be more responsive than D mode. What it seems to do is just keep it in the equivalent of something like 4th gear while cruising (more revs). I meant to make a pass with it in that mode to see how (if at all) it improves the output, but in my haste performing camera and audio work I forgot to do it.

I am intending to do a "drive impressions" article on this Sport. Things have been stacking up. Real quickly, the CVT works quite well - it's nice to have the infinite ratios so there's never a moment when you're caught out between too widely spaced gearing (which is often the case with cars using Honda's 5AT)
