Hey everyone!
I just picked up my 2013 Acura ILX Dynamic PKG (6MT) yesterday, and I'm so excited! I traded in my 2011 BMW 128i 6MT. It was an amazing car and was pretty much flawless during my 2 years with it, but the monthly payment was just way too high for me to continue on. The ILX is significantly cheaper, is very premium feeling(much better interior than 128i), has great performance (steering is a tad too light, but I still like it), and will definately be better on gas than the I6 in the 128i.
I bought a 2004 TSX 6mt back in 2004, and the ILX reminds me of it - but better equipped and better looking IMO. I'm SO glad to be back in the Honda family...I'll keep everyone posted.

Congratulations on your new purchase. I like the ILX's styling and interior quite a bit, too, and would certainly consider the 6MT 2.4 model (however unpopular it may be on these forums).

The 6MT 2.4 is the best drive train in the ILX.
Congrats. on your new car!
What color did you get?

It's crystal black - which makes it look sleek and upscale. Also, I don't know how to post pictures on here :(

Hey, saw that you are in Canuckistan, curious to know what you paid as I am in Winterpeg and the ILXs are piling up at our only Acura dealer.
Normally I'm a white car guy but the ILX in Black takes the cake, nice purchase.

OK here goes...
If there's one thing I can say about the ILX, it's that it is much, much more than a tarted up Civic. Nothing makes me angrier than to hear that type of comment from someone who has not even driven the car. The ILX 2.4 is very upscale, which is impressive at its price point...and it LOOKS more expensive than it is - inside and out. It really does remind me of my 2004 Acura TSX 6MT that I bought new in 04, but it's lighter and the engine note is more energetic sounding.

Hello
Well, it's a lease and I had a fair raping due to my trade (owing more than it's worth, etc) but I did get a lease of 460/mth taxes in. That is a lot LESS than the BMW. It shouldn't be a problem getting it for around 420 ish. I'll tell you that even a loaded Subaru Impreza is like 480! So I made out OK.
Mine had to be ordered from the factory because of the rarity of the manual, and white will take a much longer time to find.

Mac_powah, we definitely respect your opinion more than hearing about it from a corporate shill like Tyson. Glad to hear you like your ILX.
I think they should have stuck with just the 2.4 as the engine choice, but added an automatic version, too. It looks like the 2.0's and hybrids are starting to pile up on the dealer's lots. Jay Wolfe Acura shows 81 ILX's in inventory, currently.

My local Acura dealer is pretty small lot wise, and the amount of ILX on the lot at the moment makes it look like that is about the only vehicle they sell.

It is a really good looking car to be honest. I just wish Acura had focused more on the content that counted and less on the content that nobody would want.
The high end features are good, and the top powertrain is decent, but without additional tuning, it seems like a waste with the chassis. I also wish there was the option of top end features on the 6MT which would have put the MT in much higher demand IMO. I may very well have traded my Si for one under those circumstances.

Congratulations, it is a very nice car. I hope you do not take my opinion personal, but here's what makes me not want the ILX as my next vehicle:
1. No 2.4 with tech package.
2. Looking at the rear of the car, I can see that it's a civic dressed nicer. (Sorry, but that's what I see as a long time civic owner)
3. This is nobody's fault, it's too small.
As you can see, they are all subjective reasons, I have not driven one so I can't compare it to a civic and mention their resemblance in that aspect or lack thereof.
But once again, congratulations. It sounds like its a car that makes you happy.

I don't think the problem with the ILX are the looks, since I think it is a great looking car. If the base model would have had a 2.0L with 170 HP and the 2.4L came with an automatic, I think sales would probably be double what they have been.
I would not doubt we see something like that once the TSX disappears (or morphs into something else).

Congrats. I love the rear end, saw my first one a week ago and was really impressed by the styling, better in person. Clearly the 6sp model is the one to get. So something they need to change in the other models:
1.2.4 offered with auto as well.
2.2.4 offered with tech package
3.Hybrid using a version of the new Accords system coming out, (a trim I would highly consider)
4.Better pricing on the premium model, or a version with leather for a bit more but not over $3000 as it is priced now. In my mind Acura was great, you are buying a premium brand comes with leather, and usual goodies in the base model. I think had they said 27,900 starting including 2.4 (6sp or auto) and leather and maybe delete a few things like moonroof to get it into that pricing structure if need be, it would have been huge.
I mean 27,900 2.4 premium package is the same price roughly as an Accord EX-L with same options, for a smaller car (smaller i-MID screen, no touch screen, etc as well), so you know the margins have to be fairly close there to do that. If I was looking for a premium look, experience, with sporty feel, seems like a great car value.
All this has been harped on, but there is no doubt the 6sp 2.4 version is very nice car. I think nothing about this car reminds me about the civic, and is so much nicer.
Enjoy the drive,
B.

I like the look of the car on the outside for the most part. I really wanted to buy this car. However, i wanted more power in an automatic/more interior room. So i felt this car was overpriced and missing what I wanted.
Had to look elsewhere. I will consider when my lease up next time around and see how the ILX evolves.
congrats...car looks sharp.

IMO an Accord EX-L vs. and ISX isn't even close. The Accord EX-L legitimately feels like a luxury car. The ILX has a lot of cheap/cheapish touches to it that seem like they should be in the Civic. But that's more a reflection of just how good the Accord is rather than the ILX being bad.

Again, think about the size difference though!
The Accord is still freaking huge in comparison.
I like how small the footprint on the ILX is; it's one of the things that sets it apart from other luxury cars.

^Yeah, I'm still seriously considering an Accord for our next car, but it really does seem just a bit too "big" for my tastes.

Make an ILX hatch and I'll buy it in an instant. It's the fact that it's a sedan that rockets in down to the bottom of my list.

Yeah, the Missus drives an '07 TL.
The thing is too big for me. I drove it around today for the first time in awhile and really, really appreciated the point and squirt ability of the Fit and Miata that I usually drive.
I'd be down with something the size of an ILX WAY sooner than I'd be down with a new Accord, despite how good it is generally/better it is than the ILX in certain areas.
Size matters! lol

Looks very nice, especially in black. Personally, I am not a fan of the the rear quarter design. Looks too Dodge Averger-ish. Front and rear are very nice & upscale looking. Acura seriously needs an automatic option for the 2.4, though. Manuals just don't sell any more. Perhaps it's a just supply issue and they will offer one later in the model year.

I totally agree with the rear end view. It looks too stubby and just not right, otherwise the car looks great.
Also, I believe the reason there is no automatic on either this or the Civic Si is because of the huge 2.4 liter engine - there's no space for an automatic. (What I've read, may or may not be true.)
