FoMoCo Says Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is Better than the Lexus HS 250h
* Lincoln MKZ Hybrid’s projected fuel economy tops its nearest competitor – the 2010 Lexus HS 250h – by 6 mpg.
* Lincoln MKZ Hybrid can cruise up to 47 mph in pure electric mode – Lexus HS 250h battery-only mode allows just 25 mph.
* Lincoln MKZ Hybrid comes standard with features and technologies that are either not offered on the Lexus HS 250h or are available only at an extra cost.
* Lexus HS 250h prices start at $34,650 – Lincoln MKZ Hybrid starts at… well, we’ll have to wait and see if the the MKZ Hybrid wins here as well.

Except for the fact that the Lincoln looks weird, I don't like either choice. Both look boring. These hybrids have to hide the fact that there is still a combustion engine in there by not offering a tachometer. What useful information can you get from a hybrid-propolsion meter that would translate in to driving interaction?
Push left foot down, chee whiz more electric propolsion. Lift off from left foot, less propolsion. Very useful dummy. Just give me a good old tach like Honda and some European's do on their hybrids.

Nice to see Ford beating Toyota at their very own marketing game...

Meanwhile, over at Acura the crickets are chirping. The could bring back the 3.0L hybrid from the discontinued Accord Hybrid and stuff it into the TL or TSX and have a great entry in the luxury hybrid market

2013 Update
Lincoln's all-new MKZ Hybrid has been EPA-certified at 45mpg in the city and 45mpg on the highway, netting a combined rating of – you guessed it – 45mpg. Those ratings make the 2013 MKZ the most fuel efficient luxury vehicle available in America.
In comparison, the MKZ's closest competitor, the Lexus ES 300h, is rated at 40mpg in the city and 39mpg on the highway. The admittedly more powerful Infiniti M35h is even farther in the MKZ's rearview mirror, posting deficits of 18 and 13mpg in city and highway driving respectively.

But at only 182hp this makes the rl and it's almost 200 more HP and 30/30 even more impressive. There's already rumors of a TL hybrid in the works at 45 mpg so let's wait and see before we call on the crickets.

Does Ford have a comparison with ES300h in point form?

Didn't think any other company could out-ugly Acura's grille and out-butcher the 3-letter model naming.
Boy was I wrong. Congrats, Lincoln/Ford!
