"Another big change is the front suspension, which has switched from double wishbones to McPherson struts. Normally, I don't write much about this sort of thing; as long as the car drives well, I don't care if they attach the wheels with bananas and paper clips. But the new suspension makes a big difference: While the Accord now handles far more responsively than its competitors, the ride quality has gone down the tubes. It isn't hard, but it's very busy -- the suspension allows the body to move up and down with such great frequency, rapidity and duration that smooth roads feel bumpy and bumpy roads fell like the surface of the Moon. It's as if, in response to charges that the Civic (Honda's last McPherson design) was too soft, they made the Accord too firm. Oddly enough, the Sport version -- which gets more aggressive suspension tuning -- has a slightly more comfortable ride."
Anyone agree with this reviewer. I test drove an lx and it was firm.

Interesting...
"The ride feels firm at first, but no worse than any of the competition. What you notice, though, is that you never seem to feel a harsh impact or a wild body motion. The suspension does a fantastic job of controlling body and chassis movements. The Accord is smooth and composed over rough pavement and through corners, with surprisingly little roll that's deliberate and controlled."
This is MT on the Accord. They seemed perfectly fine with the firmness of the Accord.
And this is the first I'm hearing of this Accord being TOO firm...
I personally haven't driven the new one yet.
How does it compare to the 7th gen, (if you know)?

I don't have any problem with the ride of my 2013 Accord EX.
It's stiffer than many cars, but I like that in a vehicle.
I had 6th and 7th generation Accords and I don't think there's a significant difference in the rides.

I found the sport model was too hard, test drove both ex and sport back to back. Too firm even for me who owns a TSX. Does the sport look better yes, but IMO too harsh. Make sure you test your car on a variety of surfaces, if you test a sport on smooth blacktop you probably would never notice but that is not the case in New England with the winter destroying rds.
