I ordered a white ILX Tech in August. There were none available in Canada then. I was told the color white was one of the last on the production run. I was given a delivery date of Oct 2 which was fine with me. Mid way through Sept I was given the VIN subject to confirmation when the vehicle arrived. On Oct 1, I was told the delivery date had been moved up to Oct 1 so it should arrive at the dealer that day. On Oct 3, I received an apology because the car had not arrived and the dealer had no idea why and had no process for determining why the car was late and where the car is in the system. I've had no communication since then. The dealership is in Kingston, ON and has been open for less than a year. I am becoming suspicious that something has happened and I'm not being told.
Has anyone experienced this lack of communication? Might my car have been redirected to a more important customer? Is it true that dealers have no process for investigating this kind of thing?

Perhaps they took awhile to get over the shock that someone bought one. Just kidding - I think I've only ever seen one on the road so far.
When I bought my RDX from a Canadian dealer, there was a few month wait as well, and communication was pretty poor. I figured that the main reason for that was because for the sales quota, the sale was counted on the month you put the deposit down, not on the delivery date -hence the lack of interest.

Here's a magic trick: Tell them that if you don't have a written update on the status of your vehicle (the same VIN) in the next 48 hours, you're canceling you will be canceling your order and looking elsewhere. I guarantee you your car will magically appear in their lot. Or at least some information.

You guys realize that there are less than 7000 on the road, and more than 250 million cars running in the US, don't you?
If you've seen one, you are pretty much a minority... Had that figure be double (14k) it wouldn't have made much of a difference in terms of your personal "spotting".
Besides, I really don't understand why has the OP need to bear with your pointless (to his question) comments.
If you have something to say to help him out, or addressing his question, please do, if not, why don't you simply go adding your bits to related discussions such as this one?

Honda either flops or makes a legend.
Some flops:
2012 Civic
CR-Z
ZDX
ILX
Crosstour
Insight
09-11 TL
Some legends:
8th gen Civic
Basically any Civic before 2012
S2000
CR-V
3rd gen TL
CR-X
NSX
Any Type-R or Type-S
Looks like the 2013 Accord will be one

How was the 9th Civic a flop?
It's been selling pretty well...
I know many think it's an inferior car to the 8th gen, but I rarely hear the term "flop" outside of a financial context.
Oh, and add the RL and Vigor to the flops, and add Legend to well..Legends.

I wouldnt say 2012 Civic is a flop, based on sales numbers at-least.

No idea why everyone claims that the '12 Civic is such a flop. We bought our daughter a 4 dr EX with Nav (for college) and other than the hard plastics in the interior, it seems to be a good car. For a girl who commutes to college, at today's fuel prices, we did well. And getting it for $2300 below MSRP made it even better.

Again, why on earth don't you open a damn thread of your own to talk about whatever you want to talk ????
Is it really impossible to ask a question here without a horde of people with way too much free time and the irresistible need of spreading their flop theories around???
