Well as everyone probably knows California pays some of the highest gas prices in the lower 48 states. Today was a shocker to see the price of fuel @ $4.71, $4.81, & $4.91. That was an increase of over 50 cents in 3 days. Of course the refineries have the usual excuses but living in this state is really getting expensive. Fuel (regular) was under $4.00 a gallon for about a month (tease), but you either buy it or stay at home. They got you by the *&%$ and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. Rant over.

You aren't the only one. I've stayed at home for the past few days; I've only gone out for absolutely needed work purposes, and even so, I've been granny driving, too.

You really have your politicians to thank. The legislation and taxation makes it impossible to not have outrageous gas prices. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction...

.....even tho' (shifting the 6M circa 2500 RPM) my fuel numbers aren't too shabby, I am hoping the refinery fires/glitches here in CA soon respond to repairs and fixes.
My trip odo shows 300 miles...........and I know soon I'll have to suck it up (but I don't have to like it)

The best part is when the news goes to the gas stations and interviews those with the big SUVs and trucks. Then they start crying b/c it costs more for them to fill up and feel they should be obligated to lower gas prices even though 10% of them actually use them for the utility or hauling.

Gas in general is too high, but CA is nuts. I still have to question why people still keep CA a blue state in light of everything that is going on there.

Norway, the third largest oil producer in the world has the most expensive gas in the world according to a Bloomberg research among 60 countries.
The price was about $10,12 a US gallon. You think that is enough? No, politicians say they want that price to double. Meanwhile Venezuela, another oil producing nation sells gas at $0.09 a gallon, the cheapest in the world.

Haha happens all the time. If they were truly concerned about gas (petrol) prices, nobody would buy an F250 just for the "road presence". It actually amazes me how the US complains about high gas prices, but we probably have the most V8 cars available.

Ok, so I went to san diego yesterday to watch the races at qualcomm stadium and I was shocked to see this no name gas station about 1 mile from the stadium charging 5.39/5.48/5.59!!! The shell and mobil down the street from that were 5.09 for premium!! That is just crazy. I drove down the 163 and gas was still in the 4.49 range off the freeway.

On top of that injustice, you guys have 91 gas as "premium". In Michigan, it's 93.
Canadians get screwed too. Right now regular is running at aprox. $5 flat in the greater Toronto area.
But yeah, I don't pity those who drive enormous trucks to work every day. Free market at work means you stop crying and buy a Civic- if you REALLY need to haul or go offroad... the price of fuel probably isn't as big a factor.

Way back in the late 70's & early 80's we had 93 octane premium. But because of all the EPA save the world assholes, California has to be the benchmark smog wise for the other states. Then with all the EPA regs, taxes (which add about 50 cents a gallon) and all the other B.S., it is no wonder that people are starting to leave the state in droves.... If it wasn't for my good paying job I would have left years ago.
