You know how he can possibly say that.

Its not so much the Fit's fault as it is Honda's for offering nothing beyond it.
With Honda if you want more power, better ride, a nicer look, and more features, while keeping a 5th door you'd have to move on the CRV. And if you want something sporty with a stick to bad.

Yeah, it's a lease -- great deal, too.

Exactly. The Fit is a great little car, but as I approach the age of dirt, I want something a little more. On the other hand, I live in a city, like the feel of a small car. I have no use for a Oldsmobile with an Acura badge.

Good... took you a while to answer that question... were you in the shop getting it some FuggerNuggenPumperSchiezel fixed? ;-)
I had a VeeDub once upon a time.. great car, great handling, perfect to the 10/10ths and then... BAM!
I sort of prefer how Honda does it, they are perfect to the 9/10ths and then you get warnings to back off.
It's amazing that I survived my Scirocco... not fun going into a terminal oversteer because you had to hit the brakes into a mountain road U turn... from 70 to 25... with all four tires sliding the car side ways... a cliff face on the left and a cliff drop on the right.
I didn't pee my pants.. I was too busy thinking that I'd need new tires soon.
Great in the track, not so great on the road.
And the dealers were not the most friendly...
Me: "The steering wheel shakes a little at 70 mph"
He: "The speed limit is 55"
Me: "If I wanted to do 55 I would not have bought a Scirocco"
He: "OK... we'll balance the wheels"
Have fun... but really, the Fit and your Golf R are entirely different type of cars.

For a lease, getting the VW over any Honda/Acura is a no-brainer. For a long term buy, it might be a different story.

Hope you enjoy! And hopefully Honda will have SOMETHING for you to come back to in the future.
