OE tires for the 2013 Accord are now posted at tirerack.com.
LX Sedan has Continental ContiProContact 205/65R16 95H, rated 500 AA A. Tire rack customers rated this tire 6.7 out of 10 overall, with good dry and wet traction.
EX, EX-L, and Touring Sedan, and LX-S, EX, EX-L Coupe, are fitted with Michelin Primacy MXV4 215/55R17 94V with GreenX Low Rolling Resistance technology, rated 500 A A. Tire rack customers rated this tire 8.4 out of 10, citing superior wet and dry handing and excellent snow traction.
Sport Sedans, and EX-L V6 Coupe have the Michelin Primacy MXM4 235/45R18 94V. Customers rated this tire 8.3 out of 10 overall. This tire is similar to the MXV4 in the EX/L/Touring, but is calibrated slightly more towards performance rather than comfort.
Finally, the era of mediocre or bad OE tires for the Accord is over. The outdated Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 from 10 years ago is retired. No more of those awful Bridgestone Turanza EL41s that showed sidewall cracks before they were even 3 years old.
Honda made excellent choices for tires this time around.

Primacy was the obvious choice as far as the evolution from the pilots. Great mix of comfort, performance and traction.. should have made the switch years ago.
Odys have had them for a few years now AFAIK.

Good news! Thanks.
The tires on my 2008 EXL sedan are still looking pretty good after 5 years and 55,000 miles. Whatever they are is not too bad....
But the standard tires on my 2002 Accord LX seemed mediocre...

I could swear that in all the pics, the Primacy MXM4 is the type of shoe that the V6 models are wearing. TireRack has so many different variations of what look like the same tire, it could be an error.
Regardless, I switched to the MXM4s on my '06 EX-L V6 after my OEM MXV4s wore out, and there is quite a nice difference!

I've been running Bridgestone Potenza's on my accord since I got rid of the oem Michlin's at 10k miles. They handled terrible and were dangerous in the rain.

I traded out the MXV4s on my Accord when new for a set of Bridgestone Potenza 960A/S. 67000 miles later couldn't be happier. Tires have never squealed once, always provide confidence in downpours. Snow & ice are not great but decent considering thy are trying to handle a 3500lb Fwd car with 268hp.

The OE Michelins on my 2002 Accord coupe were lousy. They were noisy and had mediocre handling. I finally switched them out a couple years ago for Goodyear Eagle GTs. Huge improvement.

Good thing that Continental DWS is available in all these sizes.

The DWS's have worked out great on my '06 Si.

Good reviews on those OEM tires, but for $200 a tire, I wouldn't purchase them as replacements. There are plenty of tires out there that are just as good (maybe better) for a lot less. I've always have good luck with Goodyears and love Bridgestone Blizzaks for the snow.

Michelins are expensive, but based on reviews, personal experience, and the experience of others I know, they are good tires. Luckily, there is probably no need to purchase the OEM-specific tires. One can save a bit of money by buying the same model and size of tire in generic specification.
For example, for an Accord EX, the Primacy MXV4 are available in the same 215/55R17 size for $169/tire on tirerack.com, non-OEM. The load index is 1 point lower (93 vs. 94), but for most people, I don't think this will make a difference.
The similar Primacy MXM4 in 215/55R17 has the same 94 load rating and costs $175/tire.

I haven't had a chance to go to my local dealership yet, but they did post some pics of newly delivered 2013 LX and EX models on their website. I'm 99% sure that the LX's there are wearing Continental ContiProContact tires, because the shark fin pattern that goes around the tire is very obvious, even from a distance where the words on the tire aren't legible.
I will have to check them out in person to verify.

The tirerack.com now shows both the ContiProContact and Firestone Affinity Touring as OEM for the LX model.

You're right!
Holy shit... why would Honda do this? The ContiProContact scores "Excellent" in most user survey categories. The worst it scores is "Good" in snow and ice conditions. This is over 17 million miles of reported driving.
The Firestone Touring Affinity is outclassed. It's a clear step down from the Continentals in dry and wet traction, and mediocre in snow and ice ratings. This is from surveys and over 13.5 million miles of reported driving. Having put up with junk OE tires before... I won't do it again. If I was looking at buying an LX, I would make sure they had the better tires.

To confuse the issue further, the Motor Trend comparison using an EX-L 4cyl CVT has Goodyear Assurance tires. I remember seeing them in one of the spy photos too.

2013 Accord LX wears Firestone, not Continental. Verified with 4 dealers around my city, which was confirmed by regional district manager.
