First impressions of the 2013 Accord (Score: 1, Normal)

On 09/23/12 I stopped at a local dealer that was closed. They had three 2013 Accords out front. They had a black Sport, a gray EX-L 4 cylinder, and an white EX V6-Nav with Ivory interior. The exterior changes are subtle but do improve the appearance; the back looks better (reminds me more of BMW than a Sonata) and the front is much improved. The front really says Honds to me. The side profile is better and to me it resembles the Infiniti G35/37 (a good thing). The Chrome door handles are really nice. From what I could see, the black and chrome interior trim is attractive and a huge impovement on the models that had faux wood trim (YUCK). I am taking my car in tomorrow for service and I will get to sit in one to get a better view of the interior.

I checked the interior on friday (LX). I was pleasantly surprised by the interior quality. Handsome indeed and not a sea of cheap plastic. All touchable surfaces were soft. Indeed refreshing after the interior letdown of the civic. I guess they do listen after all! The earth deams engine also looked nice, no unnecesary plastic covers. I'll try to get a drive next week when they get more cars. This LX was the only one they had on the lot and it was sold. Personally I thought the exterior was fresh and very sharp looking, though similar to the previous gen it was overall better looking and much more elegant.

I just got back from the dealer today. I sat in a gray EX-L V-6; inside it looks even better. The drivers seat is comfy and leather is nice. The interior finishes are first rate for this class of vehicle and the gauges look good. Some of the black trim pieces have a grain look finish, which adds variety and visual appeal. This 2013 FMC of the Accord reminds of the 1988 FMC of the Prelude, in the sense they overhauled and tweaked the previous design of the car and made it better in every way.
