Ford is a serious competitor. Now if it handles well, they'll have a real winner.

Excellent numbers, if those numbers will reflect in the real-world.
Will be curious to see Honda Accord Hybrid (non-plugin) numbers, which will reflect how good or bad the new 2 motor hybrid system is.

Is that a one-piece dash?
I think this Fusion is going to have a word with the "Best In Class" Accord.

The interior looks weird to me with all of the randomly-placed hard angles, and the My Ford Touch is a deal breaker. That's too bad because this looks like a pretty excellent vehicle otherwise.

It looks very nice, like many of Ford's modern interiors. However, I can already see a few problems.
(1) The controls to the side and bottom of the volume knob look like they are touch activated or are some kind of shallow "bubble" press button. That's not good, because there's only a very small area for button presses.
(2) Putting HVAC and audio controls on the same tier is a mistake.
With regards to the MPG claims, the C-Max also has a 47 MPG overall claim, but real-world tests do not seem to return those numbers.
http://www.insideline.com/ford/c-max-hybrid/2013/2013-ford-c-max-hybrid-full-test-and-video.html
| But after nearly 400 miles in the C-Max, our real-world mpg hovers in the mid-30s. Meanwhile, the Prius V averaged 40.1 mpg during our testing. |
The Prius V is rated 44/40, yet it returned higher fuel economy than the Ford Hybrid. Until I see some test numbers on the Fusion, I'm skeptical that the Ford hybrid powertrain can deliver.

this car will sell - just from it's looks if nothing else. the gas mileage would be a bonus - even if it's 4-5 mpg lower, it's still impressive. And then, there's the competitive price... (esp. when compared to the ILX Hybrid).

...and it sure gains some ugly points on the non-navi model center stack, that's for sure.

..so the accord hybrid must be competitive enough from what the Fusion is priced and MPG...wonder what/which ED engine will be in the Accord Hybrid.

It all depends on the capacity of its batt.
You have to realize that under EPA test, electricity stored in batt. can be used to propel the vehicle without being replenished.
