I saw a video of a user restore his car headlamp using toothpaste.

Do you guys think it is real ? Has anyone tried this method ?

Save the toothpaste for your teeth, Picard.
You can buy a headlamp polishing kit for about 20 bucks.

By the way, how did your camping trip into the wilds of Canada go?
Did you see any Grizzly Bears?

I've tried toothpaste on a badly faded plastic headlight lens. It did take away the "dull" surface while working on it, however once it dried it became duller again. Maybe the right toothpaste with more polishing agents in it would work better than the one I tried.

You might be better off picking up a good used one at a salvage yard. I got one for about 10-15 US dollars.

picard,

please let us know how the trip went, if your bike got stolen and what you did to fix the problem with engine revving and speed not picking up going uphill. Did you replace the beaver or what? Did you make the trip without running out of fuel?

You have so many questions here, would like to hear how all your problems got solved.

Can't you use basic paint polish on the headlights, making sure to keep lots of water on the lens during the process.

I tried the toothpaste thing on my 01 MDX a month ago. I used my orbital waxer to apply it, then I buffed it with a bit of wax. It worked pretty good; I would say it removed 80% of the haze. Not bad for 20 minutes of my time and $.10 worth of "product". Anything with a mild abrasive should work, so I saved $20.
