On vacation this week and renting a 2013 Altima. This car is much improved over the previous gen. in almost every category. The new Accord had better be da' bomb!

Thats a sad statement. The new Altima just arrived, one would think the first couple of months of production would go the dealers for retail sales and not siphon some off to fleet.
We went to the National Car Rental pickup here in Albuquerque and I was surprised to see a brand new Altima in the full size pick up row. Since we had been renting the previous gen. Altimas, it seemed like a good time for a comparo. It has like a 650 mile range on a tank of gas.
What was your mpg? I have read on other forums, drivers getting 40mpgs on the hwy at 70mph.
New mid size sedans FE keep improving, new Altima at 38 HWY and others at 37mpg. New 2013 Fusion with I4 EcoBoost, however is projected only 23/33 mpg. Below the old Accord?? New Accord should be at least 37 or possibly 39 mpg HWY.
I thought the 23/33 numbers were for the base 2.5, NOT the new 1.6, I think its supposed to get around 37 mpg on the highway.
The 23/33 mpg is for the 2013 2.0L EcoBoost engine. I don't know about the 1.6L. If Ford has to turn to a 1.6L to compete with a 2.4L Honda something is wrong.

Welll in your view something will be wrong then lol...the 1.6t is the engine that will have the best mpgs...the 2.5 will be in all fusion s and some fusion se models but the majority of fusion se models will have the 1.6t that's supposed to be rated at 37 mpg highway.
