Looks aftermarket. Stitching on the bolster "wings" are different, and the factory pack leaves the headrests alone.
And while while we're on the topic of Subaru's, I've instead been falling in love with the wingless STi sedan...

The seats were actually done by Scion...or at least that car was presented to the media by Scion with no credit I could find to a street tuner shop or aftermarket outlet, though they may have been requested. There is rumor that Scion is releasing their own sets of seatcovers and interior trim packages.
Also, companies like Clazzio make some pretty impressive covers, and once they are on, you can't really tell they are "fake". I've been sending an email here and there asking for FR-S versions.

As far as the STi goes, and even the WRX...I just couldn't find one, and when I finally did, I didn't like how heavy the WRX felt. I didn't really get any emotional stir from the car like I did with the FR-S. However, the STi is a different animal, and I have not driven that one.

Well thanks Nick and DCR...just ordered a BRZ Limited in the blue color yours is Nick. For some reason or another they sold it to me at invoice with no additional dealer costs.

There was this:
http://www.torquenews.com/1084/scion-fr-s-outselling-subaru-brz-huge-margin
The BRZ I was after was marked down $700 off MSRP, and that was for the 6 Speed manual. In fact, the reason it was even sitting there was because the person who ordered it got an FR-S sooner and cheaper, and it had already been sitting a month when I got to it.
I really liked the BRZ...the seats are better, the lighting is neat + you get HIDS, and a standard navi. In short, the FR-S is only going to get people great deals on the BRZ, due to a higher supply and lower starting price, as they will invariably turn faster than the BRZ.

Oh yes. I was able to track down an FR-S for a drive. The dealer told me to go ahead and rip on it, which was odd. The back end kicked out on a U-turn with ease. It doesn't snap like my S2000. My main concern was if I could fit fishing and camping gear in the back. I should be able to squeeze plenty in it with the rear seats folded forward. The car really brings back memories of my old CRXs...except with the whole RWD thing.

It certainly helped my cause. The main reason I wanted the BRZ was because of the blue, it's just like Nick's 86. I also wanted the wing which I think looks excellent on this car. I actually like the front of the FR-S better.

I couldn't justify the money for it. This will be the first non-Honda vehicle I will own. I've had 2 Honda motorcycles and 4 Honda cars.

Wow, they are dropping like flies !!
JJK LOL !
It is interesting though sad to read of three quite hardcore TOV'ers now already 'seduced' by a Toyota. And to think a Toyota is the epitome of boring while a Honda is of interesting in terms of driving experience and performance. I guess time have changed. I wonder how many more will take the plunge eventually. Is three hardcore Honda enthusiasts switching sides a significant thing ?
I do know Honda in general is a bit 'anti-Toyota'. I remember organising my first Honda owners visit to the Honda plant here in Malaysia and the question came to whether owners who may have a problem with their Honda can drive their other car to the plant and the Honda manager told me 'sure thing, but NOT if it is a Toyota'. I am not sure if he was joking or what. Surely it must hurt a bit if Honda is to know that they are losing hardcore fans to Toyota of all people ? Or do they not care anymore like some other TOV'ers are suggesting ?

I love my S2000 and will not let it go. Honda just doesn't have anything now that is appealing. As much as I wanted it to, the CRZ doesn't do it for me. It is kind of fun, but after driving an FR-S, it doesn't even come close. The Civic Si is now a sort of sporty economy car devoid of character. I expect other makes to challenge the Toyobaru, but I don't think Honda will.

What you felt on that turn is the probably the best part of this car, which is also why it comes with the tires that it does. It is hard to describe, but on a hard left, the car felt like it almost floated for a millisecond, and then "locked in" to the turn like I was on rails. In that moment though, you can decide what you want the car to do...open a little kick out, a huge kickout, or just point and go. It actually scared me a bit at first, because I have taken this turn literally thousands of times in 12 years or more in my Honda vehicles and of course never felt this. I was probably at 5/10 there, so I can't wait to get my own here soon and go learn the limits in one of the ice rink parking lots up here (privately owned and the owner is a buddy).

There's enough 'float' in those soggy Michelins to 'rotate' the car, a bit like the RWS on the S2000, but, as you say, nowhere near as 'snappy' and far more user-friendly.
Once learned, it would be interesting to see how it is on 'real' tyres, like Goodyear F1as or 'Stoneds, or AD08s...my instinct tells me - really good.
As for the 'hardcore'; Wong - you nailed it; Honda no longer is interested in us (as Daniel keeps reminding us) so it's so long and thanks for all (the really nice) fish (you used to prepare).
