I am hoping you guys can help me out. I have a 7th generation Honda Accord Ex-L (automatic, 4-cyl) that the battery is going bad. The manual specifies the following for the battery:
12 V 36 AH/5 HR or 12 V 38 AH/5 HR
I am not sure which I should get. Also, it does not tell me the battery group that I need to buy. Can you please recommend me a replacement battery (and brand)?
Thanks.

Your car is not fussy about batteries. There are only three battery manufacturers in the US. I think you need the Group 51 size. Sears, AutoZone, any Interstate dealer, Batteries Plus, it doesn't matter. If it's "going bad", replace it quickly, like yesterday! "Going bad" is not something that you can say for many days.
Walmart usually has the best price. I've been told that Exide makes them, but that could change, one year to the next. Their Maxx batteries have a 36 month no questions full replacement warranty. Just be sure you keep the receipt in the car in case you have a warranty claim.
If you live in a cold climate, go with the highest Amp Hour rating that will fit your car.

We have the same model Accord. The battery group size is 51R (the R is for reverse post location). Agree with Waldo's suggestions and would add Costco if you have one nearby.
For anyone with the V6, the group size is 34. It's wider so can't be put in the I4 models, unless you want to also replace the battery hold down.

Interstate makes Honda's batteries for the Northeast area of the country. not sure if it's Country wide. But if you buy the battery from honda it has 100 month warranty. And I think the first 3 years if free replacment, prorated after that.
