Iv'e underlined the important parts from MT.
"As for the Acura TL, a revamped sedan still based on the Accord arrives next spring. We’d be surprised if the next-gen Acura TL doesn’t follow the 2013 Honda Accord’s lead, with slightly smaller dimensions, though with an Earth Dreams 3.5-liter V-6 for the luxury four-door. While Acura may not offer two V-6 variants, a hybrid TL is in the cards with fuel economy of about 45 mpg."
With proper stiffened handling, a TL hybrid like this (high mpg) would be a winner; since Lexus went for a larger more bloated 2013 ES.

I'm wondering if a hotter TL will surface using the RLX's eSH-AWD? Just imagine 380hp TL eSH-AWD with a 7DCT! I'm wondering if Acura could offer that package (loaded) for under $50k?

I doubt it since the current TL SH-AWD with the Advance package goes for $46,080.

If that article/rumor is correct, then 2015 ILX/HCH will be doing 55+mpg...

Emphasing the key elements...
A Hybrid TL (is in the cards) with high fuel economy (of about 45 mpg), smaller dimensions (than the current TL), sporty handling, steering ratio and a well done leather interior.
Of course there should be an engine option that establishes the new TL family as a credible sport sedan (in the league of, say Audi A4 ), without overdoing it.
Why not nail the market the ES totally misses? Because if Acura doesn't, Audi will do it with a TDI diesel soon!

I would not call a TDI diesel car sporty at all.
We saw the Audi Diesel LP cars twice at the LBGP and although fast enough they were boring. While the other cars went BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPOPOPOPBRRAAAAAAAAP!!, the Audis went by pzzzzzzzzzzzt.. no need for ear plugs for those slugs.
Also a hybrid 45mpg TL makes little sense except if AHM is trying to survive the EPA. The RL hybrid is all about using electric motors for the rear wheels, hence using the gas engine as a series hybrid is required... fuel efficiency is a byproduct although a FWD only RL would likely get better efficiency to begin with.
The only reason why the TL would get smaller is because the RL is not growing and perhaps because AHM thinks that having just an Accord and TL and no TSX makes more sense... except that this means that the Accord goes back to being a global car and I think that's back to the future for Honda and all the issues why the NA Accord was separated.
Of course this hoses the Acura dealers big time because they lose the TSX which is a car that they could sells tons of if they had them made in NA.
