Bottom line: "One of the most well-rounded in this segment. It's a comfortable cruiser with a solid powertrain, a compliant ride and plenty of features," says Geiger. "The brand's history of strong reliability helps tip the scale."

Great useful car.
In Canada, Civic & CR-V dominate Honda sales.
Accord is not in the picture because almost same price as CR-V but not as practical.

For future reference, putting tags around the link makes it into a link. It's so much easier than copying and pasting! :) Also, the CR-V has always been a great SUV. It sells well all around the world.

I still prefer the previous gen styling, but the 12 is better in about every other way. I just hope the doors don't fly open before I can get the recall done.

The even bigger news is the Escape finishes dead last.
They had unkind things to say about the interior, 2.5L gas powertrain basically saying you have to get into the more expensive models before you see the benefits of the re-design. Ouch!

I don't doubt any of what they are saying regarding the Escape S, I feel the same way about the Focus S, if its not at least an SE or higher, its a waste of time IMO. I think the CR-V crested right above $25,000 (something like $25,460) a base SE is $25,895, maybe Ford should have sent a base SE since the CR-V was still included...but even in base SE form the Escape is still outclassed features-wise against the CR-V EX tested. Escape comes off as overpriced in general, but in S and SE tirms its seems under equipped to me. At least in those high dollar SEL and Titanium trims you get lots of stuff.

Not a good way to start out. It looks like the well-equipped Escape prices have moved uptown, too.

Not to put much stock into whatever a mainstream newspaper says, but the CR-V is definitely the most well rounded in this segment. It's not the sportiest, it's midpack in almost all dynamic and acceleration tests, has immense utility, and is priced right. The Escape and CR-V are going to be battling for sales for a long time.
