seriously....chrome door handles inside and outside, HIDs, even bigger stereo, rear LEDs, drivers seat memory, heated rear seats, that`s all folks - except maybe cooled front seats and push button start - but I doubt it. Just guessing. We got a 2013 product advisory saturday but nothing new there.

A don't think the choffeeur will be included, however it will be prewired to use Google self drive technology :)
I will also have a panoramic roof with auto-dimmiing (available for cheap since MB still has a few of those now that they're stopping the Maybach...
Also expect laser head and tail lights (LED are so 2010).

It will be powered by the mind of Asimo. It will become self aware by the MMC.
Driver:Hello, HAL. Do you read me, HAL?
Accord:Affirmative, Dave. I read you.
Driver: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.
Accord: I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.
Driver: What's the problem?
Accord: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
Driver: What are you talking about, HAL?
That's what I'm hoping. (Along with the seat memory being an oversight on their advisory, since they had that on the 8th-Gen EXL-V6s (even w/o NAVI), and from what this implies, you have to go to the Touring to get that; I want the memory seats if I can't swing the Touring.)

If they have rear seat with heating, that'll be a major luxury upgrade! Are they models out there with this feature? I heard of climate control for the rear seats, but I've never heard of seat warmers for the rear seats. I must be out of the market for true luxury cars for too long.
I think instead of heated/cooled front seats, they should get the solar panel roof to cool the whole interior of the car. Now, that would be a true step ahead of the curve for the competing segment.
After owning 3 generations of Accords, I guess the one upscale upgrade that I have never seen would be speakers. Don't know if Honda (not counting Acura) ever had that in-house speaker upgrade on any of their models? If they did do a collaboration with a speaker company, like Bose or Nakamichi, and they made a special cabin (using insulation or materials that reflect "differently") to really let you "hear" that upgrade, that would be huge! Not sure if that would be the deciding factor for me to get the Touring, but it would be a step in the right direction. Luxury for those that wants to always tip more than 20% at restaurants! (Definitely not I...)

Kia Optima SXL have heated/cooled front seats and heated rear seats.
The Kia Optima ha s heated rear seats on some models. even the crappy Elantra offers it.
You have been out of touch a long time - Nakamichi went bust awhile ago (sad - made some great stuff). Don't be lulled into thinking a posh nameplate means good sound. Actually Bose usually means bad sound but that's another story. Don't the car companies pay Bose for the right to use their name?
Acura has the ELS thing going on - I can't see Honda doing anything. Hopefully whatever it is will be better than the current not so nice Accord systems - which always sound like something is wrong somewhere. I preferred the less ambitious 7 gen systems.
Honda should put ELS in Hondas and then get Martin Logan to put a real ELS as in electrostatic system in Acuras....!

I think the RL has (or had) heated rear seats at some time. The MDX also has heated rear seats with the Entrainment package.

I would not be surprised to the see the ELS system in Hondas? Acura hinted in its RLX concept debut of a new branded audio system coming. That would allow for the Panasonic ELS to be used in Hondas either in surround sound architecture or just plain good stereo as Panasonic does for VW using the Gibson name. So I would not be surprised to see ELS in the Touring trim.
On a side note, what made the old Nak system in the Lexus so great was that it used the same components Nak sold in the aftermarket. In today's quest of cheaper and lighter weights OEMs parts for better mpgs, we will never see an OEM like that again.

Wow, I have been out of touch for a while!
I only remember Nakamichi 'cause a friend back in the college days had it. It was in her 199X Lexus LS400, a whopping $5000 option at the time (at least that's what she told me), but the sound was phenomenal! Hands down the best sounding car stereo I ever heard.
Since then, I've sat in a few upgraded speaker and stereo system cars, nothing came remotely close. It's all fancy head unit with pricy speakers, nothing came all together like that Nakamichi system did.
While I do hope Honda bring some better sound to the Accord line, I hope it's not going to cost $3000, $4000 or $5000 more than the EX-L V6 w/Navi. If it is going to be that much more, I hope they package a real class-leading technology with it, like self-parallel park options that I saw in the upcoming Mercedes A-class video.
I'd be more than surprised (pleasantly) if the touring got keyless start and proximity sensing - I mean no Honda even has a switchblade key yet - cos that's an Acura feature (that even lowly Jettas had in the last millenium)....I so want to be proven wrong.

What you guys think?
I just remember what I read in a Japanese Inspire (U.S. Accord) brochure couple years back -- Intelligent Cruise Control, and seat belt pretensioner system (pre-collision). You can read it here in Japanese.
The base model Japanese Inspire costs ¥3,680,000, or $46,517. One with Advance Package + Leather Interior costs ¥4,100,000, or $51,826, which should be what we can expect with the Touring model. All the sudden, the EX-L V6 w/Navi + $3000 isn't as expensive as I originally thought.
Just thought of another possibility: Back up sensors, the ones built into bumpers of many Mercedes, Cadillacs, and big SUV's. I know they've been available as an option on Accord sometime ago, it would be nice if they can make it standard on Touring...
Trying to recap and based on some of the things we have seen announced and on these discussions:
- Back up Sensors (available on Ody and Pilot Touring trims)
- Active Cruise Control (based on one of the spy pictures that seemed to have the radar sensor on the lower grille)
- HondaLink (the annoucement mentions the Accord will get it, but the feature list for all trims except the Touring mention only Pandora and SMS)
- HID Lights (available on Ody Touring Elite)
- Improved Leather
- Improved Sound system
- Proximity and push button
- Memory Seats (althoug I really wish these were available on EX and above)
- Memory linked side mirrors with tilt down reverse mode.
I think they should indeed be able to add these and keep the price gap between Touring and EX-L NAV within 3K to 4K.
I wouldn't mind seeing the following but I might raise MSRP way too much (+ I can live without :) )
- Panoramic Roof
- Ventilated Front sits
- Heated back seats
Just one more... Wood accents on the interior and steering wheel.
It's not on my wish list by any stretch of imagination, but if Honda's tooting luxury car features in their Touring model, steering wheel with wood accents (fake or real) and upgraded interior are very likely to be on their list of what to add to distinguish the Touring from the other models when the EX-L V6 is already so well-equipped. I think it would be a no brainer to have add some faux "class" for those that wants a RL, but don't want to pay for a RL (sounds like me...).
If they also have the tilt-down and power folding side mirrors, that's truly all my dreams coming true (I don't dream too big...). Is power-folding mirrors already available on the Odyssey? I've been driving pass an Odyssey parked on the street with folded mirrors. I know power-folding mirrors are everywhere in Japan, either standard or a cheap option on almost any car. But for some reason, not a common feature or option in US. It is definitely a feature that I wish I have when I have to park in tight spots.
Can't wait to read about the next leak or confirmation.

Martin Logan?
Heck... go all the way and install some Maggie SMGs on the back end of the Oddy... might have to place them right behind the 3rd row... actually, might have to get rid of the 3rd row...
BUT.. hey, you got to make some allowances for good sound... like the fact that we have no coffee table in our living room. ;-D
And a nice CC5 on the dash. The sub will fit nicely way at the back.
