I've been looking around for a second vehicle. I currently have a fit, which is nice and all, but lacks in the refinement department. I'd be perfectly happy pay a premium on a fit (yes that tiny thing) if they stepped it up with an EX model, because frankly, the packaging is that awesome.
Such a car does not exist (I won't buy VW, so GTI is out of the question), so I started looking at some sedans: ILX, Civic/Si, current Accord and some non-sedans: BR-Z/FR-S and CR-Z.
Basically, something nice around ~25K. As you already know, the ILX is on the upper end of that range and is arguably the worst equipped car out of the bunch. It is also, arguably the most refined.
If the Accord looks good, it may fit the bill: tons of standard equipment (i'd probably go for the sport if its around 25k), new engine tech to match/exceed the competition and MT. If its not a pig like the current one, I'll be very happy to own one.
