By the lack of mention push button start anywhere (perhaps with the exception of the Touring Trim), is it safe to assume that the Accord will not be offered with PBS (except maybe as an option?)
With that said, I'm really interested in what "luxury features" the Touring Trim will offer...

There would never be an "option" for push button start.
They would have mentioned it if it were to be available on any model. If they did't mention it, than definitely means it will not happen. It is too important of a feature to have been overlooked when listing features.

FWIW, I don't think they mentioned Hondalink.

They didn't use the specific term "HondaLink" but the features are noted:
• SMS text messaging capability
• Bluetooth HandsFreeLink
Bottom line is: it doesn't have push button start. Get over it.

SOME of the Hondalink features are noted. I assume the same thing goes for the whole car, only some features that they felt were noteworthy were listed. For example, LED third brakelight and projector headlamps are new features but weren’t listed. The hybrid does have push button start, so it’s very feasible that the touring trim could offer it considering they didn’t go into detail with that model.
Considering you’ve never found me begging Honda to install push button start(I’m one who’s content with a normal key), I assume your “get over it” comment was for the thread originator. Either way, it came off as impertinent and was uncalled for.

I'm guessing we will be getting the already existing features from Inspire (Japanese Accord), like the seat belt pretensioner and radar assisted cruise control, similar to Mercedes' Distronic Plus active cruise control. I have a feeling that, because it's not a breakthrough safety feature (MB probably invented first, and it's been on Japanese Inspire for two years), they decided not to publicize this hand-me-down technology as a huge deal.
Still would like to have the push-button start, though, but more so for the proximity key features than the actual button.
It is a nice feature. I'm guessing 9 out of 10 drivers would want to have it on their next car once they know what conveniences they bring once you have it.
Just yesterday, I was at a my local shopping center, a lady was asking a Starbucks employee to help her get into her car - she had locked her keys in the car. Well, this would not have happen if she had the proximity key feature on her truck. We almost lock our key in the Toyota Ractis many times, but it would always sense the key is inside, and would allow us to lock it...

"Get over it?"
Did I ever give the intention that I was upset about the lack of PBS?
I wasn't.
That was an unnecessary comment.

I believe its a major oversight not to over it at least on EX-L models. Every major competitor has it, some have had it available for at least a generation (Altima and6) I just find it odd that Honda isn't offering it...or that it would only be on Touring and Hybrid models. I guess its no different from Ford, you can't get push button start on the 2013 Fusion SE either, you'll have to step up to top trim Titanium in order to get that feature...even the Hybrid won't offer it.
