So...Homelink is only available on the top-of-the-line model?
Not to start up another thread like push button start, but Homelink is a huge convenience that can't be that expensive to include.
I'd rather trade LaneWatch for it.
That being said, having a backup camera and USB standard are huge wins. With the way cars are designed now (huge high rear decks, tiny rear windows) a backup camera is almost a necessity. The fact that even the Passat doesn't have a backup camera available as an option marked it off my list.

I second that. Not sure why you need to have V6 EX-L to get HomeLink, as I think it should be at most, an EX-level goodie for Accord buyers.
I use mine every time I drive (I park my baby in the garage, in between mountains of crap). To think that all other non-V6 EX-L's won't have it, is just wrong. Hopefully they'll make it all standard on EX and up, or better yet, ALL ACCORDS, like the back up camera. I know it may be an extra $100 per car, but it may persuade a good extra 1 to 2% mid-size sedan buyers to the Accord camp. It'll make the car more upscale, for sure, not to have an antiquated garage door opener clipped to visor, or fumble around the center arm rest every time you come home. It does make the car's interior more... clean, if not just a tad more up-to-date.

With any luck, EX-level Accords (at least) may have the following:
1. The 7th-Gen EX-level models were pre-wired for the HomeLink unit, which was offered as a plug-and-play accessory by a couple of the big Honda accessories houses such as TOV sponsor H & A Accessories and College Hills Honda in Wooster, OH. The part of the upper console containing the HomeLink swapped-out the existing piece.
2. The 8th-Gens weren't pre-wired, but College Hills Honda seems to work overtime to provide solutions for stuff like this! In the 8th-Gen's case, the HomeLink swaps in to the blank panel in the console--for power, College Hills jerry-rigged a normal lithium battery from a standard garage-door clicker. (The only problem with this solution, of course, is that you have to remove the whole unit to change the battery. Fortunately, since you don't lose the programmed transmitters on a factory-installed HomeLink when the battery goes dead, the HomeLink itself must utilize non-volatile memory.)
Hopefully, Honda will pre-wire things with the 9th-Gen. If not, I'm sure that College Hills will soon have the redneck solution I mentioned--it's better than nothing!
(BTW, 2013 Passat SELs (top-line trim) will now receive backup cams. Honda kicks their ass there, and remember that ALL Accords will now get automatic climate-control (with dual-zone), not just A/C! It's all relative!)
