I just refilled the tank on my new CR-V and it gave me 23.8 mpg. That was a mix of mostly city driving with one freeway excursion of 30 miles out & back. That was using Econ the whole time. Compared to my 18 mpg Ford mini-van it was a nice improvement. I was a little bemused by the Motor Trend post as I have 17" tires and I do 35 to 45 on cloverleaf onramps and don't get any squeal or sliding. Since I use the armrest and leather seats I don't slide around either. I'm no soccer mom, I'm a semi-retired WASP and I like the turning radius and power steering MT thought was too light. I get good road feedback and feel fully in control at any speed. I confess to not going above 80 so far but the CR-V is every bit as in control as my 04 Accord V-6 and perhaps a bit quieter.

Congratulations, Hondel, you are driving a real winner! The new 2012 CR-V is an absolutely superb vehicle. Hope you get many, many years and miles and lots of continued satisfaction from your beautiful CR-V!

By the way, your mileage should continue to improve as you are still in the "break in" phase of ownership.

I picked my 12M CR-V up during memorial day for a 400 mile road trip. I averaged 32.5 mpg of straight highway driving with the 4 adult passengers and luggage using A/C. With over a few thousand miles now, our mix mode driving has averaged close to 24.5 (and we don't use the econ mode).
