Audi Calls Acura’s New Hybrid NSX Sports Car ‘Vaporware’ On Twitter Iron Man gave up his trademark R8 for an Acura NSX droptop in The Avengers, and it looks like Audi feels bitter about it. Why else would they diss the fictional character's ride on Twitter?
Ignoring the fact that Tony Stark may be switching to Bugatti for Iron Man 3, The official @Audi account wrote this tweet today.
It's ironic then that Tony Stark gave up this -http://twitpic.com/a1wtre - for vaporware.#WantAnR8
UPDATE: Acura made its first retaliation yesterday with this tweet directed to car writer Damon Lavrinc and not Audi.
I think @Audi is trying to sell as many R8's as possible before the real NSX comes out!
Hopefully this wasn't covered somewhere else. I'm glad Honda still seems to be throwing its support behind the next generation NSX. Maybe they need the teasing to stick to their goal of producing it. :)
In my personal opinion, I think Acura should've just told Audi that they feel flattered by Audi for trying to reproduce the first NSX.
A year or two Audi's CEO (can't remember for sure who it was) was blasting electric cars for how stupid they were.... just a few months later they had an electric concept. Sounds like they are just kind of spazzy over there.

I predict an age of electric-hybrid supercars over the next 10 years. There's a whole list I could go through, but a few are:
Acura NSX
Infiniti Emerg-e
BMW i8
Porsche 918 Spyder (which will cost more than $1,000,000)
Now we just have to wait for the outrageous prices of electric cars to go down and boom a new generation of cars.
Perhaps Tony Stark recalls the Vaporware which Audi offered during the time of the original NSX. And I'm not sure the '83 5000 being the inspiration for the '86 Ford Taurus is something to brag about.
I legitimately love it when someone other than Honda/Acura fans say something ugly about Honda, because the TOV crowd suddenly becomes very defensive and proud.
Happens every time.
It's good to see that there are still true brand enthusiasts around here, even if they're usually socking Brand H's nuts' black and blue. :)
S600, that was directed at me? Credit to Audi when it's due - they've forever changed endurance racing for the better and have even painted Porsche's legacy as amateurish. The truth in engineering stuff is pure ego though and their current technical mastery stretches all the way back to the late '90s.

Acura and Honda may be misguided f***ups sometimes, but they're _our_ misguided f***ups.
- access to major resources rather that be cash or a large quantity of parts bin parts.
- top notch interior/exterior designers.
- global brand.
- even though Audi isn't considered a "tier 1" brand, they do make tier 1 worthy products.
- they offer a full line of luxury offerings.

Hahaha, I can be hard on Honda/Acura, but I love them. That's a big difference from people blindly bashing an incredible company. My criticism comes from a positive place, not a negative one.
LAY OFF HONDA! ONLY I MAY INSULT THEM. *folds arms*

Pity they can't stretch thier technical mastery to reliability!!
