Ok so it is time for tires for my 2010 insight. I have a question before I decide on what route to take. The stock tire size is 175/65/15 I believe, the 2012 refresh though has 185/60/15 which are within 1% of the height of the 2010's. Does anyone know if the 185/60 tires will fit the 2010's without rubbing?
Also, I believe either Andrew or Tony suggested Michelin A/S Energysavers but they dont come in a size that will fit my car, does anyone else have any suggestions? Keeping in mind that I will still be trying for the best mileage possible. Thanks guys.

185/60R15 will fit the stock tire and will not rub. Don't worry. You will see some improved handling and no sacrifice in mpgs.

Nokian WRG2. I have heard insight owners liking them. Consumer reports recommended them and they should last about 45,000 Miles.

Thanks for the resonse. I checked out the Nokian website and the dealer locator did not have any shops within 50 miles of me and tire rack apparently doesn't carry them. These are the only places I know to check so I guess those are out even though they look good.

That said, Tire Rack has a lot of great choices. On the left you can option the results to show only low-rolling-resistance tires. That would be your best best for fuel mileage, especially if you're going with the slightly wider 185 tire.
Personally I've always wanted to try a Yokohama tire made with their orange oil technology. In this size that would be the AVID Ascend. The 800/85,000 rating is pretty sweet. But I have no real world experience with them.

I had problem with my 2010 Insight wearing out the original Dunlop t ires at 24400 miles. Never had this problem with any car/tires in 40 years of buying new cars.
Contacted 'Dunlop' (Goodyear) and they were helpful, But after having the tires inspected, finding that all the tires were worn evidently by an out of alignment problem.
They offered to give me the same tires as the original ones at $89.95 per tire. Not only didn't I like the same tire, but I didn't think 90 bucks was much of an adjustment,.
So I ordered four General tires from 'Tirebuyer.com' and got the four for $317.17 Delivered to my home!!
By the way, I ordered them on Tuesday afternoon and they were delivered the next day, with FREE shipping!!!!
I don't know how long they are going to last, but they are 55000 mile tires. There is absolutely a great improvement over the old tires in terms of ride and noise.. Had the tires mounted and alignment for less than $400.00.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Hopefully with your alignment will help with the longevity of your new tires. I just passed 50,000 miles on mine and they may be slightly out of alignment because the outsides are wearing quicker than the insides but it is not nearly as dramatic as yours must have been.
Which model of General tires did you have installed? Did you stay with the standard 175/65 size? I would like to have a quieter, smoother riding tire but not if it comes with a sacrifice of worse fuel efficiency, how have the new tires affected your mileage?

I bought 175/65R15SL 84H.
There is a great improvement in the ride and noise levels.
Can't report on mileage yet, as they have only been on the car for two days, but I will report asap...Jim
Note: I have never had my Hondas or Toyotas aligned in the first three/four years of ownership. Nor have I ever had to replace the tires in the same time frame..

Unfortunately the OEM Dunlop SP31's are well known for their short treadlife. Others have reported similar experiences along with noise and poor traction. I'd say you have made a good investment.
If you keep them pumped up you probably will see little difference in mpg.
Did the alignment actually find any real issues?

Sorry for the delay, I wanted to get a few tanks in with the new tires before I gave any feedback.
Last week I had all 4 of my tires replaced with yokohama avid envigor. I stayed with the 175/65 size since that is what the shop had in stock.
I haven't been able to get a good feel for the mileage with these tires yet because I have been blasting my AC this past week (Which I never do) and my commute has been different due to business needs. My last tank was 48 MPG, which I felt like was a little low, probably could have gotten above 50 MPG with the stock tires. Depending on what you value they could be an upgrade or downgrade (More confident ride, lower gas mileage).
I'll post again about them when I get a full tank of normal weather (Not triple digits for a week!) to give a more accurate number.

No need to apologize, the update is appreciated. The heat has been challenging over here too and I've been using the AC as well. I set it high (76) to minimize the impact and turn it off on climes as well. My current tank will be quite telling.
