My HFP exhaust is whistling, and it's very annoying? Can anyone help me with a resolution? I'd appreciate it.
It took me days to figure out where it was coming from, until my brother heard it when I turned my car on, then I diagnosed it and it's definitely from the muffler.

forgive the "obvious-ness" of this, but did you check the exhaust plumbing for any leaks? That's about the only thing that I could think of that could cause a whistle.
Or maybe Bubb Rubb punked you and installed a whistle tip. That whistle go 'whoo whoo'

Hahaha! Definitely not Bubb Rubb-Loud.
It's more of a high-pitch whistle. It can be heard when I first turn the car on, and whenever I'm on the throttle, it's really hard to hear when I'm less than 30% throttle and definitely annoying at anything over 30% throttle. Unacceptable at vtec.
Pardon my ignorance, but if I hear it at the exhaust tip, should I still be concerned with checking the piping?
Also, Can something under the hood that whistles (or not) resonate at the exhaust tip with a whistle?
I actually have not checked the piping, I actually thought I had it figured out at the exhaust tip. I'll check the piping and report back.
Hello, here's an update concerning the whistle for those that happen to experience it.
It was in fact the HFP Muffler. The car has 174,000 miles, I installed the muffler at 12,000 miles. So with 162,000 miles of operation, I think it's acceptable that its only damage was a whistle.
I removed it and bolted back my stock muffler, whistle is gone.
It was never difficult to appreciate the beautiful sound of the HFP muffler, but after bolting back the stock muffler, I already miss the HFP muffler. I don't know how to explain the sound very well, but the HFP muffler was very 3D, very High-Resolution. The stock one is more toned-down.
I would love to either fix my HFP exhaust, but I don't know how that's doable. There's absolutely no rust-holes or visible damage. I would buy a new one, but I'm not sure if I want to pay another $300 at this point considering that I kept my stock muffler for this very same reason (to intsall it when the HFP breaks).
Any thoughts or advice on how to possibly fix that whistle? The sound is not deep in the muffler, it really sounds like it happens at the very tip.
If it's internal there is really nothing that can be done, most likely a baffle broke. If you shake the muffler sometimes you will hear it. Look very carefully at the welds, there could be a small pinhole causing this and that could be welded. If you haven't cleaned it, a small pin hole may have soot around it.

I'll take an even closer look at it this weekend. I will inspect it carefully, it would be great if it is just a tiny hole. I'm not holding my breath though.
