Mugen enthusiasts shouldn’t get their checkbooks out just yet: at the time of writing the Japanese automaker does not plan on shoehorning the 2.8-liter powerplant under the hood of a production-spec CR-Z.

I don't really care about this "news" personally. It ain't production and they still haven't released a proper enthusiast version of the CR-Z. It doesn't even have to be a V6 twin turbo.

Really? What about all the CR-Z enthusiasts who got to run their cars at Malaysia Sepang International Circuit during the SuperGT race weekend?

There is no such thing as a proper enthusiast version really. A proper enthusiast will modify their car the way they want it.

If nothing else, it certainly shows that a much larger engine can fit into the CRZ/Fit/Insight engine bays.
