Why didn't Honda make the Insight their first electric vehicle? I really wish that Honda would have gone all out with the 2nd gen Insight like they did with the 1st gen and really competed against the Prius. And then make the Fit the "affordable" hybrid.

I don't understand why Honda didn't bring the Fit Hybrid to the United States. Hopefully the next gen fit will come with the full lineup (regular, EV, hybrid). That would be nice.

Why? Honda is still beating a dead horse with the Insight and not understanding why the Insight and CRZ are flops outside of the JDM. Thats why the EV wasn't an Insight. And why the Insight got little more than a change in window dressing for the MMC, when it needed an overhaul. But they're still making excuse: the exchange rate, supply, a little more marketing, if gas prices go up, if the sky turns pink....

Personally, I agree... the Insight should have been the premium model and the Fit Hybrid be the every man's hybrid. And an EV be an Insight (just not THIS Insight design -least favorite Honda ever and that includes the Crosstour.

Too small, couldn't stack up against the Leaf for passenger room,.........the Fit is a more passenger friendly car along with cargo. As far as the Insight, if they would have made the FCX body into a Hybrid, a series parallel Hybrid, then I think they would have had something.........and could have taken lots of Prius sales, bigger, more range.........but the powers that be, didn't think that was a good idea. Perhaps they are all kicking them selves now........

Yeah, never understood Honda's PHEV/EV strategy.

Insight + CRZ should have been technology showcase, one for family cruising, one for sport and the Insight getting the EV treatment.
Civic hybrid and Fit hybrid are the every man's hybrid design for affordability.
