Most days I'll get it past 5000 revs at least once in the lower gears, but when you're trundling along with traffic the low sixth helps. Trip meter shows 7.9 ltrs per 100 Ks which is 30mpg in American. I am sure summer gas and mild temps help a lot.
that's freaking amazing for in town driving. We're getting around 23-24mpg in town in our sport wagon. Last week I took a trip up to Chattanooga and averaged 36.2mpg. That was traveling at an average of around 75mph, with a few bursts up over 80 from time to time and a few slowdowns. On the way back the FE wasn't quite as good (32 and change) because we got hung up in a long traffic jam due to a flipped SUV (btw, I can't remember the last time I saw an SUV involved in a freeway accident where it DIDN'T flip)
