Now there's some abbreviations.
Is the smart money on the CR-V getting the new 4cyl Accord bits on the MMC, or the next FMC? I have a friend who is trying to decide whether to wait for it, or go with another brand now.
Unless sales are really taking a beating, I'd assume it would be another 3 years until Honda implements it... but if anyone thinks differently, post your opinion.

The CR-V is releasing with the 1.6 ED diesel in Europe this fall, so it is very likely that Honda will give it to the U.S. in the MMC.

That's what I'm thinking. If Honda wanted to be uncharacteristically aggressive it would get it at MMC but I doubt it.

Given Honda stated they would have full ED in everything within the next 3 years and given the CRV is a high volume seller I'd say the CRV will see ED in its MMC. My number 1 worry concerning the CRV is the new Escape!

I can't see Honda doing that for 2013, but for 2014 I would put money on a 2014 model. Has Honda ever done a major engine or transmission change after only the first model year? I can't think of one and my family and I have owned many Hondas since the 80s.

Honda added a V6 option to the (94-97) Accord for 1995 which required reengineering the whole front end so the V6 would fit.

Honda will probably be quick, just to leverage on scale effects.
No fun in managing complexity with many double parts for engine & transmission.
If they bring it into mass production for sales of the Accord already then why wait long on the CR-V.

Honda is a convervative company (kinda obvious).
So I'd guess the CRV will only get ED during MMC which would be the 2015 model released fall 2014.
The only model which perhaps will get the ED sooner is the Civic. But looking at the sales #, perhaps Honda will wait too.
... sigh

Ha surprised I forgot about the first V6 Accord considering that when that car came out my household consisted of 3 Accords a 91 SE, 92 EX, and a 95 EX.

The 95 Accord V6 is pretty much an oddity, considering that the vastly better 3.0 V6 just around the corner (debuted in 1996 spring IIRC).
