I think interior quality looks like the current euro-accord(tsx), I really like the big screen, I hope they don't go for 7-segment el-cheapo display for the non-navi models.
I am a customer if there is an engine that doesn't get embarrased by Audi or BMWs latest offerings. I really really like this new Honda Accord!
Please just deliver the engine and not a "flatter torque curve therefore more power", you need to deliver the numbers. The current Accord is a slow car compared to Audi and BMWs, no question about that.
Good work Honda! You are on the right track!

MarkR always does this.
Last year he was in the market he cross shopped the all new
Honda Fit base model 5MT without A/C with the all new Mercedes Benz S550 with AMG package and Night vision package.
He went with the Fit I believe.

Hahah you are right, I do cross shop alot of brands.
No, didn't go for the Fit, I went for an Audi S4, but I don't need the next one to be that fast, but if the next Honda has to be competitive with soccer moms at least.
It seems like alot of people cross shop everything from a Skoda to a BMW nowadays. My latest colleague looked at a Prius, BMW 3-series, VW Passat Alltrak and a Audi A4. He chose the Passat.
I am sure he would have included the Accord(TSX) in the above list also if he even knew it existed.
I hear what you are saying though, it's a luxury to be able to cross shop the TSX and S4, so I am a minority.
I have no brand loyalty except that I am a huge Honda fan, that's what I am cheering for them to come back :)

With the above comment, are you saying that a BMW,Audi is better? That I am stupid and should know that of course Audis are way above so stupid MarkR who cross shop.
I thought a Honda/Acura was on equal level when it came to engine/chassi technologies WHEN Honda is not in a slump as last 8years.
I re-iterate, I have no desire to keep the S4 if the new Honda offering will be competitive with the best family sedans out there, and no, not the S4 but a normal A4.

I have owned Honda's (Wife currently has a CRV) also BMW's to Fords.
I'm not glued to the next Accord, It's on my radar, as is BMW, Audi, Lexus, Toyota, Nissan, Infiniti, VW, MB, etc.
Bottom line, I'm the judge in the contest for who gets my $$$$, so don't be blinded by what you think the next Accord or any other car will look like or come equipped with (they have not showed you their hole cards yet)
If you don't shop around and actually Test drive for yourself, well, then you are a FAN - BOY, I'm sure MarkR & myself use similar set of rules when it comes to auto shopping.

I think he's just saying most people compare apples to apples. Accord, Altima, Camry, Mazda 6. Accord is suppose to compare with BMW, Audi or Mercedez. That's what Lexus and maybe Acura can compare to.
Accord is a car for the masses. Targeted for the middle class. It sells hundreds of thousands of units a year.

I agree on the class segments.
Everyone should test drive a 3 or 1 series BMW and or maybe a MB C250/350 when shopping in the Accord class of cars, I have, IMO,,, not worth the extra 20K.
It will show you how close the Honda, VW, Toyota, Nissan is to the Prestige of a 20K premium ((Emblem)) If nothing else, you will feel great about your decision.

What's the "eh" for?
You'd be surprised at how many people cross shop these three brands. On my drive to work in LA, I've heard many MB radio commercials targeting prospective Accord buyers specifically. It makes sense since in Europe and Asia, the TSX(Accord) is cross shopped against the A4, 3-series, and C-class. The top of the line US Accord is essentially an Inspire, an upscale luxury car. Just because an Accord doesn't have a luxury nameplate doesn't mean people aren't cross shopping against low-end BMWs and Audis. Just because the latter are luxury brand names doesn't mean they are better cars than the Accord.

The "eh" is because MB and BMW offerings that are of similar size to the Accord (5 series, E-Class) also cost several thousand dollars more than the Accord.
When I cross shop, I cross shop between things that offer similar size and power for a similar price.
I suppose one could cross shop between the 3 series/C Class/A4 and the Accord, but then again, those luxury cars are more expensive, and are smaller.
Idk, the large price difference just makes the cross shopping seem absurd to me.
If I'm in the market for an Accord, I probably wouldn't be able to afford an MB or a BMW.
