I'm of the persuasion that most cars made right now look way too "exciting" for being mostly sedans and hatchbacks.
This looks a little on the "not flashy" side, but hey, so did...every Honda before 2009.
It doesn't look cheap, or tacky, or aggressive, or overstated...it just looks like a clean looking sedan that Honda would make.
I think if you saw this and didn't know it was going to be a Honda product, you would still be able to tell it's a Honda. That's a GREAT thing, because as of late that hasn't always been the case.

The problem is...it is an Acura. The current RL was bashed for being too much like a Honda.

Unless Honda is not going to release the same car as a Legend, that's because it's still a Honda.

If it looks larger and more expensive than an Accord, and has the required extra interior room for a luxury sedan, it will be received better than the RL.
The failure of the RL was size. It was essentially the same size as an Accord exterior, except it was 400-500 lbs heavier and had less interior room and trunk space. The RL had about one inch less rear leg room. Luxury car buyers actually do care about the back seat, because one of the many motivations for buying such a car is that you expect to impress other people when you transport them.
