It appears that the shots that Vtec and others have that show off a glimpse of the Accord's interior are for the navigation models, the non-navi models have an audio head unit similar to the Civic/CR-Vs. Not crazy about it!

I like what I can see so far; not button heavy, and it seems symmetrical.
However, I'm curious; what the hell is that bizarre void over the vents and the radio?
I think it might house the back up screen, but why does it all look as if it was an afterthought?

And it also seems as if the power output on the base engine has dropped by 1.

Must say that picture is a little bit of a let down for me too. I'll have to see a better picture before I dismiss it.
In some of the first spy pictures you could see the hood over the radio area so I thought it would look like an evolution of the current car or something like the TSX's
Judging from the pic, it may look more like this...
Again, I'll have to see a better picture but this may be the first time that I didn't love the Accord's interior at first sight.

I haven't been to a Toyota dealership in a while, so I might be wrong. A quick search online shows that not every Camry has a touch screen stereo:
http://www.autocardesign.com/2012-toyota-camry-hybrid/2012-new-toyota-camry-hybrid-interior-photos/
So if the picture is one of an LX Honda is not offering anything less than Toyota.
I guess this model offer something closer to what the my Odissey EX-L does, where the top screen can show the trip computer, radio info, the back up camera, and a nice picture of you family if you choose to upload one. This model might not have the i-MID (I know Honda promissed back up cameras for all models, did they say the same about i-MID).
Clearly the other pictures that show a small screen belong to either a fully loaded EX-L, but most likely the Touring mode (with the blind spot side view camera). In that one I am pretty sure the high mounted screeen will be higher res (maybe even size) and will be used to display Navigation plus all radio features) what I wonder though is whether the lower screen is touch sensitive or just an output device to display extra informaiton (like trip computer and i-MID) without having to exit the nav or radio display on top.

Yeah you are right, as soon as I sent that I remembered I think I had seen one without the touch screen. I think the SE has it... so maybe it is LE that doesn't.
In any case I'm not thrilled with that picture...Not crazy about that 'style' radio that's in the civic...hopefully I will like it better when I see the real pics because I am liking everything else so far.

I'm literally tearing my hair off while reading these posts. Not to make any false assumptions, but I'm almost positive the new Accord will have the same screen setup as the CR-V.

No, it did not. Honda has not released any official engine specifications on the Accord yet and Edmunds does not know how to read press releases.

I think you are basically right. However I think that in nav models the set up might be inversersed (the first interiors picts show a screen that is hardly big enough for navigation and is not as button intensive as the CR-V unit).
If the main nav screen is the the high position that takes it to far away from the reach of the driver so I am pretty much sure that one is not touch sensitive nor includes all the buttons.
The question is then what interface will honda use to allow the driver to interact with it?
1st option: the lower screen is touch sensitive
2nd option: the nav will still be operated by a fob and buttons as the current model, but said controls are located further down and not visible on the picts we have seen.
3rd option: the fob/buttons will be located in the console between the sits (which would be more confortable to operate).
We'll see.
In any case, when I replace my car, I will definitely get a NAV equipped model this time around...
