...and, after a FMC including a size increase, rename it "Inspire", or some new name, while also introducing this "smaller" car as the Accord.
For too long, Honda has tried to bridge the gap between the Camry and Avalon or Maxima and Altima, and most recently Sonata and Azera/Genesis. With a large sedan like the current Accord, they've left a wide gap between it and Civic.
For those like me that need more space than Civic offers, (we have three kids, two still in car seats) but doesn't want a giant behemoth, doesn't want to pay the premium for Acura, and already has a main family hauler (a Pilot in our case), it's nice to save a little gas and is more fun to drive our 7th gen. Accord 6MT sedan whenever possible.
I would be quite happy with a smaller Accord evolved from the TSX/Euro Accord, and leave the larger sedan only "Inspire" to compete in the Full size car market.
I think there is room in Honda's line up, and some market share to be gained.

Actually, I said something similar a few years ago. I know the Accord will shrink some, which is good. But I'd be interested to see if there are any plans to introduce a proper full-size vehicle above the Accord that competes with the Avalon and Maxima.

It's what the Crosstour could be (or should be) if they packaged it right...

Honda doesn't need a bigger sedan, ala Avalon, in US line up. Crosstour is a nice car and belongs in a different segment.
