So far, this new Accord looks fantastic! But one thing would convince me to jump into the last of the 8th-Gens before I even see what the inside looks like! (Something that I've always been nervous as heck about until the specs have been revealed with each Accord generation since the 2001 Civic came out! Yep, the Civic generation when Honda dropped the double-wishbones!)
Jeff, Andrew, do you folks have any information from your sources as to whether the 9th-Gen Accord keeps the wishbones?
I've driven an 8th-Gen Civic, and while the experience is OK, it's not as good as my 1994 was! And if they swap in MacStruts, I'd think the Accord's handling will stay as-is and not improve, as I'd hope it would given the expected decrease in size and weight.
If this was already addressed somewhere else, my bad! (Just looked through the Accord Concept stuff, and didn't see anything.)

As I can't say at this moment what the suspension will be, I can only say this current suspension has fared them well and as of late, why change something that works. DWBS has been an Accord staple and is cost effective.
Any changes, I think, would be to make the components lighter............In any notion, I would wait if you care more about Looks, technology, performance and Fuel Economy........Price is all the current car will EVER have over the 2013........and if I had to go 72 months on a 13 to get the payment I could get at 48 months on a 2012........I would go the extra 2 years.........It will be worth it!!!

Thanks--was just curious.
I guess my only other reservation would be "pulling the trigger" on a first-year car. Am I correct that there haven't seemed to be any of the first-year teething pains on the 9th-Gen Civics and the new CRVs versus what happened with the 8th-Gen Accords: stuff like the brake problems and the subwoofer-induced parcel-shelf rattles? I don't seem to see many complaints about that stuff for either vehicle, although the (deserved) criticism about the Civic quality in general seems like it would drown that stuff out anyway. (Even though they are still selling like crazy, yes?)

All the testing of a hand built product will never account for mass produced vehicles. There will always be little gremlins in new cars, especially now, with all the electronics and alloys they use, the flux in temps from Maine to FL......there are BOUND to be little things, even with the BEST of manufactured cars.

Good points all!
As I've stated in other threads, I'll be curious to see a feature matrix. For some reason I'm fixated on a pipe dream of active cruise, and if the Touring has it, that's what I'll spring for! Otherwise, my minimum will be an EXL-V6 Sedan, especially if the memory seat remains for that trim and doesn't move up to the Touring. (The extra nannies and keyless ignition are not enough for me to make the jump beyond the EXL if those are the only extras.)
Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean the world isn't out to get me! ;-)

I agree completely. Honda should have kept the DWB's in the Civic. Its funny how people always says they're too expensive.

I think it has more to do with space issues. "Man max, machine min." The Civic's hood just keeps getting shorter and shorter, and the top of the struts are about in the firewall at this point. In fact I think they're technically behind the start of the windshield and no longer even in the "engine bay."
The Accord, apart from being much larger and less space-conscious, also spawns a variety of other, more-expensive cars from its platform. The RL and TL, for example, both which carry the wishbones as well.
