They could be, but the way that every light has such a motion blur, it is hard to tell. It still very much looks like a HID lighting temperature.

I could not get a confirmation on that from my source, my gut is that they are HID's. Here are reasons why I think LED's would be a HUGE factor in this car;
Head lights, halogen, use a HUGE amount of energy, so the DRL's would pose a bigger drain on the battery during electric only drive. My guess, would be LED's for the DRL's and HID's for the night time driving lights.
HID's use about 40% of the energy a Halogen would use and LED's would use about 20% of a halogen.......so I am going to guess that a combo of LED and HID will be used.
Now, we don't know if the head lights will be run off of the 12 volt battery or the battery pack. Will the HA-PHEV have a 12 volt battery? There is a lot of VERY ADVANCED technology in this car.
Remember, this car is geared more like a VOLT then a regular Prius type hybrid. This is Honda's engineering at it's best, YEARS in the making to do it right, the best and to have a degree of performance for the enthusiast. You will know every detail of what is going on with car when you are driving it......the detail will be very driver involved........I am expecting, HOPING I will get a chance to see and drive it when I go to Torrance in Aug.
