Actually I wrote my wife with that name... ;-D

"Hey, like I'm going to take McKenzie to get some brewskeys... what kind you want, like eh?"

And I'll have to put some NHL Ducks stickers on it so we can drive to the Honda Pond in Anaheim.

Our TSX Wagon is a natural born Japanese citizen, coming in with a green card to Southern California.

Currently it is in transit somewhere over the Pacific. It gets air sick and prefers to keep its tires planted firmly on the ground. As we found out lately, its american cousin did not like it either and being launched airborne at a curb broke her heart. :-P

Anyo, TSX-San's papers will be processed in Torrance and then we'll take him home to Orange County.

Hmm.. sounds like I got a name for him. No TSX-ko for him... no, it's a BOY.. TSX-San.

Now, we hear that our Civic might be born sometime in June.. we'll see. We're not quite sure if it'll be a boy or a girl.. however with that serious metal metallic look, AT5 and NAVI, I suspect it's be well behaved, intelligent American boy.

Woohoo.. I'm actually excited. ;-D

The Si is due to hit the dealer on 6/8... right before my wife takes a week's vacation... brr... It's supposed to take 3 to 5 days before the car is ready for us...

BUT NO NEWS on the TSX which is pissing me off since it was supposed to be here last tuesday and we're already paying the insurance on it.... this sucks.. I want my car.. NOW...

I sure hope not.

Canadian Pacific is on the Vancouver/Calgary side.... I suppose there are other Canadian Rail Companies that serve the Central Provinces, eh?

If not.. well this does sound like a fantastic opportunity to visit Canada.

Have US passport, radar detector and a case of Monsters... will travel. ;-)

Seriously, though, this would be a major bummer... but since they gave us the delivery date (at the dealer, not ours) I figure they would know this.

Honda acknowledged the strike has halted shipments of its most popular model, the CRV from its plant in Alliston, Ontario.

Honda spokesman Ed Miller said, “The vast majority of finished Honda and Acura vehicles produced in North America are shipped by rail and our Canadian operations are a key part of these operations. For the vehicles built by Honda associates in Alliston, Ontario, CP Rail — the organization that is on strike — is the provider of outbound rail cars.

“While the strike lasts, Honda will not be able to ship vehicles out of Alliston by rail. We are storing the vehicles on site,” he explained.

Wife is picking up the TSX today so I haven't sat in it yet... nor have I sat in the back of the CT.. daughter did... she liked it.

I'll write up my impressions on the CT later on... I must say that I think I'll miss it. It was a very relaxed and yet powerful ride. It had all the power that I needed and wanted yet it did it in a most relaxed manner.

Most definitely a grown up car for people who like to go fast sometimes but realize that most of the time you have go with the flow.

Definitely the car to do a long distance drive.

GREAT.... new car today.

I love it... been too long since we had a new car... almost 14 months! And the last one was the CRV which was not really exciting, nor mine.

TSX-San is supposed to be mine, but I'll let the wife "borrow" him until her Si comes in... which if the Gods are right and the Canadian Rail system works... should be next week sometime.

I'm really looking at this ride. My commute is to ridiculously short that 35 mph is faster than I should go.. so I want to enjoy the ELS system while I wait at the UCI red lights ( which account for more than half the commute time ).

Out on the road I don't think it will be as relaxed as the CrossTour because the I4 pulls more RPM.

I'm also curious how TSXSan compares with the Civic Hybrid because IMA runs at the lowest possible RPM all the time... meaning the IMA/CVT runs in an almost V6 mode (vibration wise) when cruising at medium speeds. It's like running 5th gear at 35 mph when on a partly opened throttle.

Errr.. have you seen how native South Westerners run their wipers?

One drop of rain, per minute, and they turn the wipers ON at full speed. Only two speeds for the wipers: OFF and FAST. Nothing in between.

Really, kid you not. You can tell who the really natives are and who moved in from somewhere where they have more than ten rainy days a year...

Anyhow, running those wipers at high speed on a dry windshield is murder on them. ;-)

depending upon where you live, it's very dusty in parts of LA. And if you're near the coast, you probably get a nice salty film on your windows instead of dirt/grime.

Yeah... what he said... ;-)

Actually, if you live up by Palmdale or Palm Springs you have more to worry than the wipers... most likely the paint job. It's very windy in Palmdale...

And near the coast, not so salty. The ocean is quite dry around here so we don't have the humidity like in Hawai'i. I recall that the first thing people did in Hawai'i when they got a new car was to drive to Ziebart and have it rustproofed. Around here, unless you live right _at_ the beach you don't have that much of an issue with ocean borne salt. Mostly what you got is morning drizzle from the fog which is not very salty at all.

Mostly what we got in SoCal is people who think that they can keep their windshields cleared in the rain with the wipers.

They've yet to realize that the wipers are there to help you see through the windshield by managing the water on it... but that on a mid to heavy rain there is no way the wipers will keep it clear.

Awhile back I started to use RainX and I love it.

A year ago we drove down from Seattle... it started to rain HEAVY in the middle of Oregon all the way past Stockton. It was a non stop drive. From Redding down to past Stockton I barely used the wipers... I was forced to run fast at some points in the high mountain passes, but by and by I drove with the wipers on delay. The RainX is wonderful.

After 16 months of ownership... the wipers in that CRV were perfect...

What don't you get?

The interior of the TSX is sumptuous... and the engine purrs. The only fly in the ointment is the small Power Plenum, but the rest of the package is very nice.

I'm sure that your new purchase speaks to your sophistication and fine taste. So congratulations, there.

That said, what I "don't get" is being compelled to bait or draw DCR (or anyone else) in to a confrontation, whereby you might assert some dominance, is something I find disheartening. If you don't care for him - that's cool. I don't always agree with him and at times he can be abrasive. I'm sure his heart (like many here) is in the right place and that's good enough for me to consider him and others as friends. But to diminish him by suggesting he's less than you because he doesn't share your values expressed by your well-documented, recent purchase is not in the Spirit of what I presume we are here for and about.

I believe we are all Greater than the cars we drive.

I appreciate that you are a passionate person, but I would never dream of telling anyone here to "fuck off" no matter how much I may want to.

As DRC has said goodbye to Honda for now, I'm coming to the conclusion that it's time for me to say goodbye to TOV. For now.

I wish everyone the best of Safe and Happy Motoring - whatever your preferred mode or brand of transport may be.

Kind Regards,
